This is the best frame shop in the Twin Cities that I have researched/hired for the framing of my fine art. They specialize in framing specifically, so they are focused and knowledgeable on this service. This is not an art supply store that also offers framing services on the side. Custom framing is their trade; their craft.
They are sure to stock the most current conservation materials for the preservation of your historical documents, photos, art, etc. Whenever a new product is released to the market that can better serve the longterm preservation of your piece, they are on top of it and are sure to stock it in their shop. They keep a constant eye on the market.
Carter Ave. Frame Shop specializes in conservation faming. They cut no corners. Their work is of superb quality. They are honest about the different options you have and their eye for design is keen. They're both friendly and knowledgable.
The other thing to mention is that their turnaround time is fast!
When you combine the knowledge, customer service, quality, turnaround time, they are as...
Read moreI wanted to make a tribute piece for a family who lost a loved one. I spent quite a while looking for just the right pictures and having them enhanced. Once that was done I need them arranged and framed. Where do I go? Chain store? How long will it take? The photo restoring business said the chain stores can take up to two to three weeks. I had a week. I hit the internet, found Carter Ave Frame in my area and stopped in, no appointment needed. Amanda looked at what I had, newsprint from the 60's, photos in sepia, and went right to a mat that really made the theme pop! She then looked a a wall of hundreds of frames and after about the third try we had it. I expressed my concern with my limited time frame and she said not a problem they would definitely have it ready on time. I paid and left. I got a call today, a day earlier than needed, product was done. I just picked it up and it is awesome. I'm not a big framing guy but wow - that was easy and it looks great. Give Carter Ave a try and I'm sure you won't be...
Read moreWow. I am extremely impressed by the shop's work. I came to Carter Ave Frame shop because I had driven past it numerous times and then read some of the reviews online. I had purchased some artwork overseas and when I brought it home I it was a little damaged and I knew that I wouldn't be able to hang it using a cheap frame I found at a craft store. After a consultation with Caleb at CAFS he gave me some really great suggestions and allowed me to think about the look I was going for. I really appreciated his eye and attention to colors and styles. After making some choices I left feeling pretty good about the decisions made and looking forward to the finished product. I returned a little over a week later and was BLOWN AWAY by how awesome the work looked. The colors popped, frames were perfect, and the paintings looked better than what I imagined when I bought them. Bluntly honest, I was a little surprised by the price that I paid, but now that I've seen the work, IT WAS WORTH...
