boreal — Local services in Saint Paul

I feel incredibly moved to write a review for Boreal, and for the lovely, dare I say beautiful people who work at this delightful store. There are of course many things that I love about this store, but here are some of my favorite things about the clothes/jewelry (but noting that there are also so many other gorgeous items) .....! About the clothing/jewelry, I love: the support of local artists. the support of women. the beautiful combinations of clothing and accessories, in particular the necklaces, with striking colors, textures and the depth of thought that has gone into each combination. the understanding of individuality in clothing options. the quality of the clothing. I went to Boreal for the first time, the other week to look around, and later the same week returned, and bought some items, for an upcoming lecture that I was giving. When I lectured, always worried about what I will look like, I felt absolutely wonderful, and quite confident. So much so that I returned after my lecture to thank the staff at Boreal for the time, effort and sheer grace that they had afforded me to choose such a lovely outfit (I promptly bought another outfit, to sing in for Christmas Eve!) I went here today for a small Father's Day gift and an Anniversary card. You are bound to find something here for any occasion or just for fun.

Just now as I was putting my gifts together, I noticed that they had whited out the price sticker on the items at checkout. I didn't notice the clerk doing so at the time, but what great above and beyond service, knowing most of the items they sell are likely to be gifts.

It's been a long time since I went shopping and came away feeling so good! I went there for Christmas gifts and the staff was really helpful (and friendly.) Not only did I find great stuff but they offered to gift wrap each item individually (free!) They also accepted a personal check. If you're looking for a one-stop gift shop this is it.
