I was super disappointed in our experience here. We live 45 minutes away and wanted to do a big day outing for the summer with another family. I called ahead to get information because the website didn’t include pricing. When we did arrive, the pricing I was told was wrong, including needing to pay weekend rates even though it was Friday (by definition a weekday). Even my 1 year old had to pay full admission because she could walk. (About $75 total for my 4 children). Each child has to pay a $5 registration fee even if you’re only planning to come once.
The check in process was very long including needing to make profiles for each child. It was difficult for all the kids in the lobby to wait - they were excited to go in. I wish I got that information before I arrived so I could fill out things ahead of time.
We were initially interested in checking out the facility because I have a child interested in gymnastics. I was hoping to be able to watch some gymnastics while we played but they are separate buildings just fyi if that’s something you were considering.
The play area itself was okay. Things were pretty clean. Definitely a lot of duct taped toys but it felt safe for everyone. I appreciated having an area for my toddler to play safely.
I was thinking there would be more to do for the price. Even though the website said it was included, mini golf was an extra fee. Also the arcade games were very distracting to the kids and an extra fee.
No outside food is allowed so we had to eat in our car which was a big pain. You can order food inside but there weren’t any options appropriate for our diet.
One reason we were coming here was to escape the summer heat but it slowly got hotter and hotter as the day went on. It didn’t feel air conditioned at all. We eventually had to leave earlier than we wanted because everyone was so hot and their cheeks were bright red. The lobby was air conditioned and felt fine, but not the play room.
Two things that were kinda strange to me but some may enjoy - there was a bar inside. Just kind of a weird vibe for me at a kids place. The alcohol was on display. Other thing is there are close to a dozen employees that walk around the play area. I’m not really sure what their job was?? It felt awkward to me but again, maybe some parents would like that.
Overall, I feel upset that I drove that far and hyped it up to my kids (we watched the website videos) and went through a long check in process because I felt totally obligated to pay and stay. If I had all the information beforehand, I would definitely not have come. It’s frustrating that I called ahead and was given wrong information and embarrassing because I invited a friend and it was way more expensive than I quoted to her and she was upset most of the time. It...
Read moreI had really high hopes for the little wigglers class but it was a big disappointment.. My daughter is 2yrs old and has been watching gymnastics videos so we were excited to try a beginner class. We get there 5min early, I few family’s were there already. We played on the mats waiting to hear a big introduction but nothing. She just started giving instructions, no enthusiasm at all! And the instructions were over her skill level, as if she should have already known how to do it. Turns out the instructor never works with the smaller kids, she was filling in for someone. She was young and honestly didn’t have a good aditude. It was Saturday so I don’t think she wanted to be at work, let alone deal with toddlers. My daughter had melt down after melt down and we had no hands on help with the moves. I know the class is hands on for parents but to have simple instructions and no help, we could easily stay home and learn off of YouTube. But this class was also to help my daughter get socialized. They hyped up the classes like they get full fast but there was only 2 kids in this class. I would stick to music together and Kroc swim classes in Salem, we’ve had great experiences at both! I called to cancel my future classes and they didn’t even ask why, so it must happen often. When we went to the front desk to check in earlier, the customer service was lacking. She was also holding a baby, which I wasn’t expecting. Not sure how well run the place is. Plus there’s a crazy $50 sign on fee for the year, so I wasted so much money on one terrible class! Overall not what I expected! It was a very disappointing class and a lot of tears from both me and my little girl. Not worth the...
Read moreI have no way of knowing if the ninja warrior class is any good because there is no viewing area for parents/caretakers. There really is no space where you could put some chairs for viewing?
If there isn’t on the floor, why not install a small loft-like platform and add some chairs? There is one in the gymnastics area (the white one that’s not enclosed). That would be extremely helpful and would only take a few thousand to build.
It’s a great spot for parents with kids in gymnastics, but we’d like to watch our little guy build his ninja skills rather than a bunch of tween girls doing flips.
Another issue has to do with parking and supervision. I get that there is limited parking and spaces fill quickly. One has to work with what was there so can’t fault the gym for that. What that means, though is that one must arrive substantially early and this means your kid waits at least 15 minutes for class to start. I found it a bit odd that there were no adults in the class even 5 minutes before class time. I was told that I needed to go to the parental wait area so did. And my little guy ended up fine. Just would feel better if there was an adult staff member there a bit before the actual...
