Governor's Office — Attraction in Salem

Governor Tina Kotek came into office promising transparency, accountability, and compassion for Oregon families. Unfortunately, my family has experienced the opposite.

Her inaction and poor oversight have allowed a system to directly harm our children and devastate our family. Because of decisions made under her leadership, our children have been displaced, our rights ignored, and due process violated. Instead of protecting families, her office’s failures have created instability and trauma for the very children she claims to champion.

These harms are not abstract. My family has lived them. An innocent man, my husband and father to our children defined by ORS 109.119b. He was defamed and jailed simply for feeding me. Later, he was arrested again for defending me against an aggressor who ignored our pleas to leave us alone and advanced on us, leaving scissors in his pocket. Instead of recognizing my husbands actions as protective, the system punished him. These injustices are part of a broader pattern in which families are criminalized, not supported.

At the same time, Governor Kotek supported House Bill 3835, which weakens protections for children by altering abuse definitions, loosening rules around restraint and seclusion, and reopening out-of-state placements — a practice Oregon had rightly stopped due to safety concerns. She also opposed stronger foster youth rights, like sibling contact protections, only to be overridden by the legislature.

Governor Kotek must take accountability. Her office’s inaction and misguided policies are directly harming families like mine and putting innocent people in jail while our children suffer the consequences. Oregon deserves a leader who truly listens to families, enforces transparency, and ensures the child welfare system protects rather than destroys.

NO CHARGES NO ARRESTS NO EVIDENCE NO PCO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY GOVERNOR TINA KOTEK. REUNITE ALL THE FAMILIES YOU WRONGED.

Let me start by saying, I didn't have an option to grant her 1/5 th of the star. I had to give her one star, in which she does not deserve. Kate Brown is the worst governor . Rather than LISTEN to the people, she chooses special interest/ projects versus the hard working people of Oregon. Covid was the tipping point for any trust in that woman. Kate Brown has claimed to follow science, but in her next breath FORCED masks on our children. That is NOT following science. And to be honest, when has she ever!? Businesses and local leaders should have been able to guide and lead their communities. After all, Kate Brown is out of touch with everyday working Oregonian's and only seems to represent the most liberal, progressive places in Oregon. Total failure of a governor and the hate and revenge she holds for people who hold different views is GROSS! We need a mom or dad or a small business owner running Oregon. It would be difficult for governor Brown to fail any more stratospherically then she already has. With one of the most damaging covid responses to the mental well being of the citizens of Oregon, she has driven people from the state.
