Sassy Onion: A Toast to Deliciously Gigantic Portions! My recent visit to Sassy Onion was an experience I won't soon forget, largely thanks to a sign proudly proclaiming "World Famous French Toast." Naturally, I felt compelled to investigate. What I encountered was an exercise in delightful exaggeration – and a truly memorable breakfast. When asked if I wanted a "single" or a "double," I, like many I imagine, assumed this referred to a couple of slices. Oh, how wrong I was! While perhaps not literally half or a whole loaf, the French toast that arrived was, in a word, *gigantic*. As one might expect with such a colossal undertaking, the batter didn't entirely saturate the bread, but this was a minor quibble. The taste was undeniably delicious, particularly the satisfying crunch on the outside – a delightful surprise I later attributed to cornflakes. Beyond the monumental French toast, every other element of the meal was spot on. My eggs were cooked to perfection, and the bacon was exactly to my liking. They also offered an impressive array of syrup choices, which is always a welcome touch. The positive experience extended beyond the plate to the staff. Everyone was incredibly warm and inviting, sporting big smiles and making conversation easy and friendly. Our order was taken promptly, and the food arrived remarkably fast, a testament to their efficient service. For anyone considering a visit to Sassy Onion, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Just be sure to show up hungry – or be prepared to take some delicious leftovers home! This is a place where generous portions meet excellent service, making for a truly satisfying dining experience.

If you haven't ate here you are missing out! Since 2002 they have been serving the most delicious meals for breakfast and lunch. The picture I have provided is their World Famous French Toast. This one is the Mixed Berries, one thick slice of their hand made bread, dipped in a secret batter and coating, topped with powdered sugar, bueberries, strawberries, red raspberries, and blackberries. Served with margarine and warm syrup. Their fryer is gluten free and their bread is homemade. My friend ordered this French Toast for our table to share but we all ordered something. I had the peppered bacon burger with a gluten free bun. All their burgers are hand-pattied 100% Angus Beef. You have a choice of seasoned fries or koleslaw. Substitute salad, sweet potato fries, onion rings or fruit for $1.50 and the gluten free bun is $1.00. My husband had the California omlette which came with hashbrowns and choice of Toast, fruit, or biscuit. He got the biscuit and it was so good, soft and thick, homemade! The service was amazing and every member of staff was so professional and make sure you have what you need. Strong communication and everyone operates like a team. The wait time was 45 minutes but honestly it was worth it! I defeintely plan on going back and I want to take my MIL. You're missing out if you haven't ate at The Sassy Onion Grill. Dine in or takeout, great place for the family or even if you are alone, all around great environment and I can't recommend them enough!

Sassy Onion Cafe was buzzing with energy during our visit this morning as we.passed through Salem, OR. This is a go-to breakfast spot. Be prepared for a short wait, especially during a holiday weekend. The atmosphere and friendly staff help the time pass quickly. The menu is packed with tempting options. One of the specials a Brazilian steak and mushroom omelette offers a savory twist. One half of rhe omlete didnt have steak, but the ither half the steak was pmentiful. As for the biscuits and gravy, the biscuits themselves were a bit unusual, with a texture more like cornbread than the traditional fluffy biscuit. The gravy was just okay—not bad, but not a standout compared to other menu items. If you have a sweet tooth, the cinnamon roll is a might be with a try. It wasnt the best weve ever had, as it did not have traditional cream cheese toppin, dough like a.light fluffy bread, nice that it did jot have too mich sugar and a nice flavor in the cinamon. The oatmeal is a solid choice for something lighter. Coffee lovers will appreciate the white chocolate latte, which is both rich and smooth. Don’t overlook the 1-1-1 combo: one fluffy pancake, an egg cooked your way, and a sausage or bacon—simple, classic, and satisfying. Generous portions, great coffee, and a welcoming vibe make Sassy Onion Cafe a geeat chouce for breakfast in Salem.

I had a catering consultation scheduled for 10am Sunday 2/25. I had heard about your company when I was at the wedding showcase in late January. When I arrived both the catering manager and who I assumed was the general manager couldn't get ahold of the guy who was supposed to do the consultation. Being a bride, punctuality and professionalism is crucial for my big day. The display I had in your very busy restaurant was very disappointing. The fact that someone I was considering to use for my big day lacked both of these traits was a huge let down. When I scheduled the consultation on the phone I should have known when the email I was told to expect never arrived... that should have been a huge. I will be using a different company that values my time and knows how big of a deal a wedding is to a bride.

The owner was great and tried to smooth things over and I considered giving them a second chance, however then the guy called who screwed up the appointment to begin with... and sadly after a conversation with the incompetent staff who forgot to document my appointment on their schedule turning it around to blame me and say I actually had the date wrong I have reconsidered. Not only is that completely moronic to blame the customer when you screwed up but it was just insult to injury. I’m a busy mom who is planning their own wedding and have multiple apps that I had scheduled this appointment in so I could make sure to be there. Such a crying shame... I was really hoping I would feel better. But with a staff member like that, it truly makes me terrified to trust this company to take care of me and my guests on a monumental...

It was my first time ever going there and I waa disappointed. The hash browns were a bit over cooked and had a taste of onion that told me the grill may have not been cleaned as my food didn't have onions.

I asked that my eggs be hard cooked they were not. The bacon was okay. I didn't eat my food and placed the plate to other side of me indicating I was done. The waiter saw this and asked "was everything okay" I told him no that the hash browns and eggs were not good and that I was done. He asked if he could bring me anything else? I said no thank you.

Now here's what I felt should have happened is the waiter should have told the manager how I felt that didn't happen nor was my meal I didn't eat taken off. I won't be back. Now I'm not saying this is a bad place but for me customer service is just as important as the food and I didn't like it but many do. There's room for learning for both the wait staff and management marking it known to staff if a customer isn't happy let management know and if a customer doesn't want anything else comp there meal and let the customer know that you will work to improve their dinning experience next time they visit and ask the customer to allow them another opportunity to get it right. And I would have but they missed the opportunity to gain me as a customer. One more thing my waiter was very nice and did a good job getting our meals out he was friendly and Curtis he just missed my disappointment. Again its an opportunity to...
