Salem Parks & Recreation Department — Attraction in Salem

I signed my son up for soccer under "nonresident" because we're just over the line in roanoke county & they don't offer spring soccer. They allowed me to do it for an additional fee (basically double). Let my son come to the evaluation then called me at the beginning of March (I signed him up 1/12) saying he can't play. I have yet to receive a refund & in fact went back on my account & saw I got charged twice! I reached out & they said it's all through Activenet, a 3rd party company they use. Scott at parks & rec said its out of their hands. Activenet has lawsuits out against them about overcharging people & signing people up for memberships they didn't sign up for. It's not the beginning of April & I still don't have any money back & my son didn't...

The sat. Nite picking in the park

was a nice event today aug.22...in longwood park...from 5 till 830....however why dont they put in a few porta johns..especially around the upper pavilion on top of the hill....this event drew more of the older people from the area....we have to pee more ofton...there was a large gathering at that pavilion also...no shelter restrooms were open at all. WH . Dont say covid 19....other restrooms are open to the public....you missed this event...

Was cleaning the river bed and my bag busted. 3 rangers in training walked by me and did not even offer to help. A river this nice should near be so polluted. Take a bag with u when you go walking and just pick up the trash you see a long the way. I do ever time. You will make a difference and feel good about doing your part. I just do not think mother nature can...
