Edit: 3/30/23
Yes, it's been renovated but it feels tinier than it did before. During the day the teens seem to take over every available space including the children's area, study rooms and the teen room as well as spilling over into the main area.
The actual number of adult books have shrank. Very disappointed there.
For some reason they chose to have only TWO single bathrooms.
For a library this size you would think that would be okay but every time I passed someone was waiting to use it.
Also the one time I waited four girls popped out of one restroom. This just spells BIG TROUBLE. Who knows how many teens are in there at one time? Eww.
I don't even want to know how they're going to manage during voting.
Overall this renovation seemed to be done by someone who didn't understand how the library was going to be used.
I mean, who though it was a good idea to put the emergency exit in the kid's room.
Old review below: The library is normally quiet and almost empty.
Yes, there are sometimes homeless people here. But considering they have restrooms and water fountains, there will occasionally be homeless people coming in to use the facilities.
Sometimes the meeting room will be unavailable and programs will be held out on the floor. One of these programs is Teen Time. When the meeting room is unavailable, they will use the teen area for their programs which can become a little loud. A staff member will be sitting with them and if course leasing the program. Teen time is on Tuesdays at 4:30 pm for those who want to plan accordingly.
Other than that this is a nice, quiet place to read or use...
Read moreThis library is a haven for the homeless. some use it to sleep over for the night. they pee and crap in the grassy area in the back of the library next to the three houses. I've had my laptop stolen in daylight. the staff is friendly and helpful but if they think youre homeless than you don't get helped too much and they tend to despise you and call the cops. personal property has been known to have been stolen and cars have been known to have been broken into. a homeless guy who slept in the front of the library used to sleep in the back before he was beaten in the face by his own brass knuckles and had his duffle bag full of clothes stolen. the police don't give a crap about anything or anyone but occasionally will do something good for the community by ironically helping the homeless people. if you come to the library remember not to leave anything behind even if you still are in the library because people love stealing things. don't leave anything behind and remember to take it...
Read moreI typically like coming here. When I was in high school I came all the time, but now that I'm in college I only go there to print during the summer. I came there for one thing but the lady at the front desk basically forced me to get a library card when I literally wanted to print only! Something that was supposed to take one minute actually took 20 minutes. I know that's their job but other times I've came to print only they allowed me to do it happily! But the guy at the center desk (which I won't name) was helping me get on the computer and he did a POOR job at it. He was so unhelpful and seemed to want me to get out of there when all I needed was getting help on a computer and to print. Guess he doesn't care about helping people as much, I was very nice to all the employees but soon I was...
