This restaurant is a hidden gem. I love this place I want to start by saying they do need better ac for sure in the place. It’s always hot in there. Now let’s get to the food, I ordered shrimp scampi it was very good, well seasoned, the pasta was very flavorful and the shrimp was cooked good not over cooked the pasta was cooked perfectly. My husband had the shrimp and calamari baked spaghetti. He could. It stop raving about it. He is not one to try something new his sticks with the chicken Marsala which he gives it 10/10 but today he ordered this and it did not disappoint he loved the baked spaghetti and he loved the calamari flavor in it as well. The portion size could feed two for sure. We had soup which was cheese tortellini it was great add some Parmesan and chili flakes it’s good. A friend had the veil Marsala and let me try it was nicely done. We also had salmon florentine it was excellent the spinach and dry tomato’s were an excellent combination. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer I love the sauce paired with it. The fried calamari is good it’s nothing too special. Not really seasoned. It’s not what it use to be years ago but it will do if your really craving it. I really enjoy the food. I give it 10/10

If you’re looking for authentic, home~cooked Italian food, La Sorrentina Italian Restaurant is exactly the place. This isn’t one of those fancy, pretentious spots where the atmosphere overshadows the food it’s the kind of family-owned restaurant that makes you feel like you’re sitting at Grandma’s table. The flavors are outstanding every bite tastes like it was made with love and tradition, the way Italian food should be. Quality comes first here, not labels or appearances, and that’s what makes it so special. While some people might drive by looking for chandeliers and golden tables, those of us who know the real value of food and family can appreciate the comfort, heart, and authenticity this restaurant delivers. A special mention goes to the waitress she was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and somehow handled the entire place all on her own with grace and a smile. That kind of dedication and hospitality is rare, and it truly made the experience even better. La Sorrentina is a hidden gem where the 99% of us can feel at home, eat well, and enjoy food that reminds us what family means. No need to dress up or pretend just come as you are and leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

A friend of my husband recommended this restaurant. Let me just tell you. I just left this restaurant and everything was excellent! The first thing is that everyone gets temperature checks at the door before entering. Mask is worn by everyone, which is a plus! Now to our order: I ordered the parmesan crusted tilapia that came with fresh vegetables and pasta with sauce. Oh my God, it was so good! We also order the Frank Sinatra plate. It came with sauteed shrimp black olives and artichoke hearts in a sauce. That was devine! My husband ordered the chicken parmesan. All our plates were huge! You get great quality and great quality. Another good try is the stuffed mushrooms.....Mmmmm....those were so good. We had their house salad with the house dressing it was yummy. We also got to try the cheese tortellini soup. I was so surprised, to be quite honest. I had never had that before. Everything was great. Service is excellent, and if you give it a try, you won't be disappointed. First time coming here, and I can honestly they are going to have new repeat customers. I brought leftovers home for my other sons to try the meals we ordered. They loved it. Can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu.

In the heart of the inner west side lies a trattoria in it's truest sense dishing out plates of Romanesque culinary delight.

The menu had the usual stables of Italian American cuisine like chicken parmesan and spaghetti with meatballs but also has more traditional items I was surprised to see like veal strambolcia. The wine selection leaves much to be desired but has many of the main stays that you expect (Pinot, Chardonnay, Malbec, Merlot etc). The food here is quite excellent and priced comparably with other independently run Italian eateries. I ordered the lunch special of the day, chicken parmesan, which came with the choice of soup or a salad. I opted for the tortellini soup which I found flavorful and not too heavy and a good balance for my carb loaded upcoming main course. I received a generous amount of aldente cooked spaghetti with a sizable slab of chicken adorning the top. The chicken cutlet was well seasoned, breaded and cooked; crispy on the outside and tender and juicy in the inside. The sauce was well flavored overall, but I found it to be a bit acidic and could have used something more to make it pop. The sauce's consistency was just the right and it coated every single noodle in that big pile of spaghetti. The plate evencame with a few pieces of garlic bread too to assist in sopping up what remained of the sauce.

The service was quick and friendly and I loved hearing Rat Pack music playing as I waited for my food to come. The prices were very fair and affordable: two glasses of wine (which was heavily poured), a cheese bread appetizer (which i regretted when I saw our plates already came bread) and the lunch special, i spent a grand total of around 25 bucks.

It's a bit tucked away when going down Culebra and it's easy to miss, i was forced to turn around because I missed the exit. The restaurant is tucked away far from the street and away from the noisy main road it's on. There is a quaint little outdoors area perfect for your social media picture flex. Adorning the walls of the restaurant are photos of voyages long past and celebrities posting with pictures of the chef; if you look around, you'll see an autographed Dean Martin Photo too. The tables with their paper placemats offers an informative apertif to Italian history and geography and though a bit kitschy, incredibly delightful to read. The interior a d exterior were very clean and staff had a neat and tidy appearance to match their friendly moods.

There is no need to go to that endless breadsticks Italian restaurant chain that has you wait an hour for a table for overpriced mediocre food when gems...

Just tried this place out for the first time. I will never be back. My mother and I stepped in with high hopes and left very disappointed. We were about to sit down when a lady told us to sit at the table with two seats, cramped by the kitchen, for the ones we were choosing were reserved. I suggest they put a 'reserve' sign on all of their reserved tables. When we were being seated, my mother tried to let the waitress pass by before my mother sat down as the hall in between them was very narrow and my mother has a leg brace on and cannot move in a quick manner. The waitress let her sit first but before she could finish getting seated, the waitress tried walking passed and bumped into my mother and dropped and broke a red pepper shaker next to my mother's feet. They were nice and cleaned it up. As the night went on, we witnessed at least two couples and a family get told they were not being served unless they had a reservation. So these people left. The waitresses seemed to forget my mother and I were there because they ended up bringing out a soup for a lady that got there after me, while I still hadn't received mine. My mother let them know. Then after everybody in the restaurant got plenty of refills, my mother's cup had remained empty, I was very upset at this point, so I let the lady that told us to move in the beginning know. The lady did other things before finally letting our waitress know. My mother liked her food, mine was okay at best. We got asked if we wanted our checks after the people that got there after us got there's. My mother took out her payment and we waited for them to take care of it for longer than what was necessary. This place is clean and the food is hot. The service is lousy and you have a chance of being told to leave unless you made a reservation in advance. I would not recommend this...

this owner used work at MY favorite restaurant of all time Naples on Broadway. Everyone remembers owner Ralph, he would always come out kitchen & greet all his customers. Absolutely best Italian food in San Antonio.....bygone days. With this knowledge we Called to a to go order at 4:00 was told closeimg @6 & no other orders being taken for day, short staffed. Finally w RESERVATION for--2 my lady is in a WHEELCHAIR. A large group celebrateing- making service slow & rather hectic, noisy & food so so.. Food Very small portions, pricey, slow (that's ok if food prepared right) basic- bread extra you must pay for. ** Chicken Marsala ( few pieces of chicken & mushroom but covered in spaghetti, me I had meat lasagna, side spaghetti with meat ball (hope they'll add a Naples favorite shrimp in a cheese & tomatoe sauce ( heaven) She liked hers. Me I was hungry- food was fair.. New RESERVATION @8:00pm To celebrate My GIRLS Birthday, while unloading wheelchair young man approached to save me the trouble the restaurant was closing @9 no other customers for day. Girl really Upset- her shining knight went inside & explained BUT WE have a reservation. Oh I'm sorry well- hu - I guess since U'r NAME IS ON RESERVATION LIST it'll be ok. I went back to my vehicle & she was crying-very upset - was to late to get somewhere else B4 they closed as well. . She felt she was being discriminated against because of her disability w a wheelchair. Neither one of us wanted eat there after that.. XXXXXX A better solution should have 1st walked to vehicle & politely ask DO YOU have a RESERVATION as for all others the kitchen has closed for new orderes. We would have been happy (no crying & extremely upset) went inside & had a Meal - but lack of just a tiny bit unthoughtfulness ruined a birthday & desire to return to a...
