Reply to Alliant's comment below. I NEVER received a Voicemail from Alliant, not one, nor, as said in comment below, did I "opt out of emails". As I mentioned below I did receive one email, to which I replied back and additionally phoned back thinking I was finally getting somewhere, but never heard anything again. Despite, trying to put blame on me, I appreciate Alliant's comment that they are making an effort to correct the problem.
I was interested in attending Alliant to get my MBA so I filled out the online interest form. I was very interested in attending this college as it is very close to my place of employment. Shortly after I got a robo call and was connected to a very friendly representative who asked me a couple questions and while on the call with me forwarded me to the San Diego campus off of Pomerado. There was no response so the representative gave me the direct number of the campus and directed me to call them back later. I tried calling the San Diego campus myself later and was unable to reach anyone so left a voicemail. Never did receive a call. I later received an email from my 'admissions advisor.' I emailed back with several questions asking for a call back and never got a call back or email reply back. I never did get one single call back!!! After several attempts of trying to get through or get a response I gave up and contacted another local college who was happy that assist me. I start my MBA program in October and am so excited! I don't know what is going on over there, but Alliant missed out on an MBA graduate student because they didn't care enough to answer the phone or reply to email. Very...
Read moreUpdate 2: I was told I did not owe any money and I was sent a bill out of the blue. Update: The accelerated program was too much for me. You need to have skills in making videos, flowcharts, and presentations as well as be familiar with APA 7 and Canvas on top of the research and papers. Work is due every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The first two weeks were "light" and I can't imagine doing all that while working a full time job. I asked if it was possible to work less while going to school but thay was not possible. Late work is not accepted. It was pretty stressful. You are online for the whole thing. I reached out and met some friendly folks, but I wish there was more effort given for us to meet and support each other.
I had asked to speak with the professors before classes started or to know what materials we'd be using, but was told I could not because they didn't know who would be teaching them yet or what texts they would use.
It is not easy to get in contact with anyone directly. If you need help with anything from technology to finance, you can call the main number, but they will direct you to email the folks. They leave early on Fridays, so call early.
In all, it was not the program for me and I had to withdraw. Good luck to those who are in it! I wish you well! Nice people.
Original post: Just joining the team for the Masters and credential to be a mild to moderate Ed. Specialist. Nicole in admissions has has gone above and beyond to help me. I'm returning to school after many years and she's referred me to folks who can help me.
I'll update as...
Read moreThe students and staff at this institution displayed extremely racist behavior. If you’re military, I strongly advise avoiding this place altogether. As an Iraq veteran, I experienced clear bias and discrimination from both students and faculty.
I’m grateful I withdrew when I did and left that environment behind. When I shared my experience with colleagues at my current job, they laughed and referred to the school as a “degree mill.” The facilities are outdated, with classes held in buildings infested with asbestos, rodents, and roaches—often more present than the students themselves.
This school is essentially a step up from online school, which happens to be in what resembles an abandoned building.
I am so thankful that I pulled out to attend an actual University that isn't put together with bubble gum and tape. My advice: Don't go here. Let them overcharge you at an actual University that has the basic necessities for a...
