Bayside Trail — Attraction in San Diego

Beautiful trail. We luckily had a free park access day so didn’t have to pay the fee- not sure how often they do this. The park centre has washrooms and covered seating areas. The hike itself was excellent, lots of unique vegetation and wildlife were visible. We could even see surfers below and had a great view of marine and air traffic going along the inlet. This trail is all downhill to the halfway point then all uphill on the way back! Not hard but medium climb on...

We parked at the main parking lot by the lighthouse and walked down this trail. It starts along the road to the trailhead. It is a dirt trail and it's fairly easy. It is out and back. It is not a loop and there is no beach access.

Easy walk; a steady incline on the way back. There are some benches along to way to stop and take-in the view! Or bring a picnic! Or play some cards! Or read a book! I originally thought it would be a loop but the trail stops at the bottom and then you turn around make your way back up the trail. Beautiful views of the city...
