Nice little walk around a loop. Goes from the old lighthouse to the new lighthouse (currently occupied by lifeguards). Can't visit the new lighthouse bc it's military but it has a nice view! We also weren't really able to go to the top of the old lighthouse bc it was closed, and it super cramped with a tiny spiral staircase. there's a tiny museum with the old light bulbs next to the house. Whales wont be there except during their expected migration period in March! Some informational plaques to read along the trail.

I went to this location after hiking down to the tide pools. There are some nice information words for reading about the whales that migrate through the area. The backbone replica is really cool and the metal statue with its baby is really awesome too. It’s a great place for photographs of people

The whale overlook has some views of a kelp forest that can be seen slightly off shore. There are also views of the tide pools and the new lighthouse at the end of the point. If you time your trip right, you could see whales passing by, but we did not see any.

Beautiful 360 views of San Diego and the Pacific. Bring your own binoculars or bring quarters for the ones there. We could not see any whales due to rain and fog. Please note this is on cabrilla monument which is $20 for one private car upon entrance. There is much to do here besides whale watch as well such as old lighthouse self-guided tour and beaches. We...
