It’s a popular spot, so there were a lot of people, but it didn’t take away from the experience. Plus, you can learn some history about Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo and his journey to the West Coast.

The information plaques around the statute give a confusing story. You will have to go there and read them for yourself.
