Luxury Thai Massage — Attraction in San Diego

I had my first Thai massage and had a great experience at Luxury Thai. Overall it was a good experience and I would definitely return. I used the check-in deal on Yelp and received a 60 min massage for $40 (have to pay in cash for this deal).

There were a couple minor things that downgraded my rating from a 5 to a 4: My appointment was at 10:15, on the website, it asks that you get there 15 minutes before your appointment. I arrived at 10:07 and the front door was locked. I thought maybe I made a mistake on my appt time, so I was going through my phone to find the number to the office when someone comes around the corner in their car and honks at me. It ended up being the masseuses. I wasn't really annoyed that I had been waiting since I was early, but I thought it was kind of rude to honk at someone. Especially since I wasn't looking and it definitely startled me. Maybe I'm being too critical, but something about being honked at makes my blood boil. Strange way to "greet" a customer. Traffic noise coming from the street. The window was left open during my massage and I could hear the cars outside. It wasn't too distracting once I started feeling more relaxed, but I think it would go a long way to close the windows during a massage. I felt like the 2nd half of my massage was a bit rushed. My masseuse wasn't sure if I had a 1-hour appointment, and once I confirmed it was just an hour, it felt like the rest of my massage was rushed to get it done in under 60 minutes. I didn't feel like to quality of my massage was compromised, just the cadence felt really sped up.

Again, I felt like these were really minor flaws for an experience that was really good overall. I had no expectation that I would be walking into a Burke Williams so I don't mind the small imperfections that a small business has in their overall package/presentation. Honestly, I actually find it charming and appreciate the small business work ethic which I'll gladly support over any larger Spa/Massage chain.

The office and massage space there is really clean and has a great relaxing feel (no clutter, clear spaces, organized, etc). Also, my massage felt "just right," the pressure was great, stretching felt wonderful, and I walked out feeling refreshed. I would definitely return for another experience and would recommend this...

Summer 2021: Oh my Lord, where do I even really freaking start. Upon arrival to my 90 minute appointment I was immediately guided to my rehabilitation massage area. I informed my Samantha of 3 places on my body that's been bothering me for weeks to some months and she went ahead and started her initial routine then eventually attended to those 3 spots. Some of her maneuvers and stretches caught me off guard cause they were new to me compare my usual massages. As she continue on to her routine and it felt like everything was just punctual. I usually try to get a massage once every 3-5 weeks and in different places if I'm traveling for work and they all got their or styles but mostly the same but this spot was 40% different than the common places I've been to. Back to the experience; Their was a time she used tiger balm and oil and then just nothing but her surgical hands🤌🏾 The experience was surreal. She seemed well aware of what she's doing and paid good attention to my reaction. I am a 6'2" 195 lbs black dude and she was firm on me and that's exactly what I wanted and didn't even say anything in advance. If you're an athlete, construction worker, office worker body builder, teacher, stressed mom, dad, human etc.. pull up! If you're an individual with high tolerance, I highly recommend Samantha to yall. If you don't have a high tolerance you can inform whoever you get or any other masseuse ahead of time. This was my first time trying out this place and from this experience alone I think the management has very good quality here. Life is going to beat us down anyway so why not let Samantha or these other masseuse do it 🤷🏾‍♂️ for a good chance of you feeling better after you go there. It really felt like it was a resort quality spa massage and I never had one before 😂. The best way I can explain my experience afterwards is that it felt as good as the first time doing yoga and a feeling afterwards or the first time you rested after doing P90X lol. Its worth booking with their normal price as a present or anniversary gift; seriously but either way give this place a darn shot! If you don't like it, it will still be worth it for your health.

WOAH. First Thai massage ever and I LOVED IT.

This is definitely not where you go for a relaxing, soothing massage. This is a hardcore “you’re in pain? Let me help” kind of massage.

It was the first time I actually loved getting a massage because of how hard and how deep it was! It was also the first time I’ve had someone walk on my back! The neck and head massages have me chills. The foot massage was what I’ve hoped previous massages would be like.

The most interested part was how she would position me into stretch positions and then massage INTO those positions. It was wonderful and I feel like my entire body’s circulation is flowing ten times better than it ever had before.

Wow. Just wow.

The price is $1 a minute. I did a walk in and paid $60 for a 60 minute massage (with card). I tipped $20, because that’s what that lady deserved.

Definitely coming back here!

Note: there is a sign in front that says they do NOT do sensual/seggual massages, and if you ask, they will end the service without refunds. I felt like that was very true and felt safe and comfortable there. There were no doors to the rooms, just curtains, so there is minimal privacy (def not enough for any seggual services). When I first walked in, the lady told me to keep my underwear on. Throughout the massage, the lady was very careful about always make sure my chest, stomach, and underwear were covered by the very big sheet (I’m plus size and that sheet was so big, she was able to wrap me in it AND tie it around me). In all, I felt very safe and comfy here and definitely recommend it to any who...
