While I’ve never personally been inside the Jack in the Box corporate headquarters, I feel compelled to write a serious and honest review based on my decades of experience as a loyal customer. I’ve always appreciated Jack in the Box for staying true to its roots. The food has consistently maintained that classic flavor I remember from 20 years ago, which is a rare thing in today’s fast-food landscape. So many restaurants have changed their recipes, ingredients, or cooking methods, but Jack in the Box has held onto what makes it unique—and for that, I’ve always given it five stars.
That nostalgic flavor and menu variety are the reasons I keep coming back. Whether it’s the classic tacos, burgers, or the iconic curly fries, there’s a comfort in knowing what you’re going to get. It’s familiar, it’s flavorful, and it’s fast. I genuinely admire how the company has managed to keep the food quality consistent over so many years. It says something about their internal standards, and I assume that kind of consistency is driven by decisions made at the top—at headquarters.
That said, I recently had a surprising experience that made me question the direction things might be going. On a recent visit, I decided to switch things up and try something different. I ordered a regular side of curly fries, which cost $4.59. When I opened the box, I was shocked at how few fries were actually inside. It felt like a kids’ portion, not something that should cost nearly five dollars. For a brand that’s always provided generous portions at a reasonable price, this felt out of step with what Jack in the Box has always been about.
I understand inflation is affecting everyone, and prices are going up across the board. But there was a time when five dollars at Jack in the Box got you a full meal—not just a handful of fries. It’s disheartening to see serving sizes shrink while prices rise, even if it’s part of keeping up with the times. I hope the leadership at headquarters is aware of this shift and considers how it might affect long-term customer loyalty.
And since I’m speaking directly to the direction of the company, here’s a suggestion: bring back the old Jack in the Box commercials. They were clever, funny, and memorable. That kind of branding built a real connection with customers, and it could do the same again today. Advertising never hurt a business, especially when it taps into nostalgia and creativity like those old commercials did.
In summary, I still love Jack in the Box. The taste and tradition are still strong. But the value-for-price balance is starting to slip. I hope the headquarters team reflects on this and considers ways to bring back not just the flavors we love—but the portions and personality that built the brand in the...
Read moreWent through the drive-thru. The voice came.over the speaker asking for my order. I ordered two combos. One combo was the breakfast platter and the other the Homestyle Chicken Ranch. Then the girl asks to repeat the order over, so I did. The whole order a second time. Then she asks me what drinks I want. I repeated myself for the 3rd time and then she told me to drive forward to the window. There was no one in front of us and no one behind us and the dining room was closed. She was rude when I got to the window. She held her hand out and said the amount due. I gave her my card. She handed me my drinks and walked off. The drinks had soda running all down the side and I was waiting for her to come back to the window to ask for some napkins. When I asked for the napkins she gave out a huge sigh and then gave me some napkins. Then we received our food and we left. Once home I opened the Homesyle Chicken sandwich and found that it was some double beef patty with loads of ketchup and mustard. The breakfast platter was correct. I did not go back but instead I just took the survey. In just a couple of days I received a text from an associate telling me that they have already began to retrain their employees and asked for my address so that I can be sent guest certificates. It's been a month. I have not received any certificates. Not going back to Jack In the Box. I understand mistakes can be made but rudeness is deliberate. Also the manager isn't very reliable either and doesn't follow through. I didn't expect anything from the survey but don't offer something for your bad service if you don't plan to follow through. I was overcharged. You get a 20.00 an hour rate now and you still can't do your job. There are other places that we will give are business to that are worthy of that wage increase. This is not the first time the JINB on Olive and Jewetta in Bakersfield has messed up. This is the 3rd time for us...
