The playground and the rec center are pretty much brand new, but it's located at is a really bad area. I'm talking about ghetto. Straight hood. And I grew up in Los Angeles so I know hood. I signed up my daughter's for free soccer and didn't realize the area was a bad area. It's really too bad because the facility is so brand new and the people running the facility are really great especially the soccer coaches, but I wouldn't sign up my daughter for this location again. The first day that we went here for soccer practice, there were a bunch of hoodlums hanging out under the Gazebo bumping obscene rap music that screamed words that children shouldn't hear. Mind you the Gazebo is literally next to the playground. Not only that but they were smoking weed and drinking beer on the playground! And it was only a Monday evening. At some point towards the end of the practice a lot of cars and people started gathering on the street between the park and the rec center and a hollering match fight started and I felt really unsafe with my children. We decided to take off immediately not allowing the kids to play on the playset for any longer than we wanted. After that day my husband wouldn't allow me to take the girls to practice without him . I continued to bring my kids here just so we can finish the season off for soccer practice. Soccer was about a month-and-a-half twice a week and 90% of the time there were always a bunch of hoodlums hanging out at the Gazebo. The last time we went there were three cop cars on the street between the gazebo in the rec center and it seemed like something had just gone down because they had a lineup of people against the wall. After this last soccer practice like I said I will not bring my children to this park ever again. The only reason I gave it a two-star because the facility and the playground were really nice and brand new and the people here that ran the rec center were super nice. It's a real shame that is just...
Read moreMy kids love this park they call it the hood park lol but the city put a fence around the swings instead of just replacing and updating the park!!!! This is how they treat the lower income communities it’s sad!!! If this was in another area they would have updated it overnight!!! This city needs to treat our communities better and stop overpaying the city workers to do nothing!! There was a food truck and people playing music it was a family vibe. Everyone was so friendly, I don’t have family or friends so I really felt welcomed here😭 you definitely have to be 420 friendly tho😂 or at least not mind the smell with your kids playing(no...
Read moreThe ill-fated gazebo is often filled with an assortment of cro-magnon, substance abusers, they play loud rap music and generally create a disconcerting vibe. The bathrooms are always locked, and the grass is not particularly well maintained. I do not feel comfortable bringing a small child to this park, there is a certain tension in the air that is unwelcome. In my opinion, the sub-human creatures that frequent this gazebo to consume their malt liquor should find somewhere else to engage in this activity, and not pollute the gene pool with...
