SD Kitchen Cabinets — Attraction in San Diego

Overall, working with Hanna at SD Kitchen Cabinets was a great experience. She came to our home to measure and make sure everything was purchased and fit appropriately. We had a few bumps, but those were unforeseen and some of those weird things you encounter when you start tearing apart someone else’s work! One of my favorite things was the 3-d rendering by the designer which really allowed us to make sure we were getting everything we wanted and change things if it didn’t fit our ideas.

The cabinets themselves I would give a 6/10 in terms of quality if you’re including custom cabinetry on the high end. Looking at similar cabinets (flat packed, assemble on site, made in China) I’d say 9/10. As expected some of the rails needed replacement, Hanna was very responsive in getting me new rails. We had one broken door that she also quickly replaced.

We worked with MSI for our counter slab and Hanna helped arrange that, just make sure your pick-up date is clear so Hanna can send your payment to MSI. Our counter top fabricator waited for hours at MSI to pick up the slabs, then they tried to give him a broken slab. Thankfully he was very picky and waited for an appropriate slab.

Absolutely delightful experience with the folks at SD Kitchen Cabinets. They were friendly, listened closely, and knowledgeable. I had ordered a set of cabinets online and realized that I had only ordered one of the two wall cabinets I needed. The shipping cost of just one cabinet was double the cost of the cabinet itself, so I looked online for local vendors. SD Kitchen Cabinets had the only site that allowed easy and clear view of inventory where I saw an exact match. While the cost was double what I paid online, it was a lot less than paying the exorbitant shipping cost.

My only complaint is about the quality of the cabinet, hence my docking one star. While it advertises "no particle board," the plywood is flimsy and easily broken. It has lots of air gaps in the layers. One strip of the cabinet delaminated during assembly and I had to glue it back. I believe I got what I paid for and they probably have better quality cabinets available. I am satisfied and recommend...

We had our cabinets done with Hanna and ABEL who took care of the countertops. My wife also wrote a review which reflect the actual service. Very hard to work with these guys as they simply don’t acknowledge your concerns. Once you run into trouble like in measurements, they will try to avoid the blame. There will not acknowledge any type of error made by them as there are flawless and they are not professional. We brought many times concerns regarding our vanities measurements and assembly and basically were dismissed by Hanna. I saw a lot of five stars, if you’re looking for moderate to low quality it might be a good fit for you but if you’re sinking very high end and high expectations with a great communication, this is not the right place for you.
