I came down here for an unexpected short visit from Santa Cruz located 6 hours north. Glad I brought my mountain bike. Now I'm used to riding in the mountains with redwood forests by the coast but I really enjoyed the long trails and steep areas along with the various types of vegetation and beautiful eco systems within here. Although I'm used to different topography and vegetation I was surprised how vast and at times very steep the trail system is. I loved climbing the steep trails and anticipating what was beyond the ridges. I had a blast exploring the trail system even though I'm not used to riding in hot weather. Taking the long trails really builds your endurance and this place doesn't disappoint. I grew up next to Powder Canyon in Rowland Heights before it was ever opened to the public. Bonelli trails are more intense and longer lasting. So refreshing to discover this place among mostly developed LA county. I didn't expect to experience this beautiful wilderness area..I'm amazed this wasn't developed but so grateful it's been left undeveloped as wilderness as...

I like it because it's where I walk Riva the Doberman every morning. But unfortunately some A hole wrote about it in one of the local papers (LA Times, Progress Bulletin), band now every body and their f*cking brother is showing up there, plus marathons, bike races, and people ignore the posted signs and ride the rental horses there too (thanks for the big piles of horse sh!tell along the trail). So if you want quiet and solitude don't bother. Goto the overflow parking on the west side where you will see a small building and a drinking fountain and a water trough. Go past and there is a good walking trail. Goto the right and you get a fantastic view of the Valley. It is where I go now to avoid the...

The Trail can be easy to moderate depending on which route you decide to take. My girlfriend and I thought this was going to be a hike but ended up literally being a walk in the park lol. It was funny to be walking on paved roads wearing hiking gear so the locals would laugh at us. We found this place from the all trails app and took a different route to extend out hike from a 6 mile hike to 8 miles. Follow the maps and go at...

Very nice experience, lots of things to see. My family and I went a few days back, we took our dogs with us. It was a chilly day, great for walking. We passed by a lake full of ducks and geese, as well as many other dog walkers. We also saw these interesting little caterpillars around 2/3 up the trail. Overall a very nice experience, we had to stop around a mile in due to some of my family members being tired.
