Los Portales Museum and Information Center — Attraction in San Elizario

It was a hot day we were there but the facilities in this historic adobe were nice and cool.

Rene welcomed us and answered our questions, he truly seemed to enjoy his job and was eager to help.

If you're a history nerd and are into architecture you'll like getting up close to this original residence that later served the community in other forms.

We recently visited with our Youth Group and Mr. Rene Fraire made it a very interesting and enjoyable experience. Marisela was our tour guide. What a beautiful soul! She was so informative, sweet, friendly and courteous. Thank you Marisela. We enjoyed listening to the history of “Billy the Kid”.
