If views of the Sutro Tower and Twin Peaks are something you enjoy, youโll like this park. You will also see plenty of other neighborhoods and hills, and if youโre in the right spot, you can spot the top of the Transamerica Pyramid when looking toward downtown. The view is really the highlight of this park.
There are lots of benches to sit and admire it, but depending on where you enter, youโll have to walk up a bit to reach them. Thatโs one thing I personally disliked about this park; the park is on a hill, so it can be difficult to navigate. The infrastructure could also use an update or refurbishment.
Other than that, itโs quite delightful. You can picnic, walk your dog, play tennis, take your family to the playground, etcetera.
I probably would not visit this park again. I had to go out of my way to visit it, itโs just not close to any notable locations, and thereโs not much it has that other parks donโt. Iโm just happy to cross it off my list of places to visit....

It's only a short distance from Fillmore, so there are lots of places to get coffee or lunch for a park picnic. It's on a hill with many levels and great wide views. You can pick the view you like best (like those Choose Your Own Adventure books, remember?). I like the benches that face north, where I can see the bay and cargo ships passing by.
The park has a lot to give, like tennis courts, a basketball court, a playground, stairs for exercising, many benches, views, and lots of green areas. In spring, the north part is covered with tiny daisies and in early to mid-February, there are some plum blossom trees that bloom. They look a lot like cherry blossom trees, but they're different and bloom earlier. They are very pretty and colorful.
This is a wonderful park that has something...
ย ย ย Read moreThis park was absolutely gorgeous! I did not rent a car so every place I went while in San Francisco was a walk. What I wasnโt used to where all the steep streets and stairs, but I was okay getting a little workout in while traveling, LOL.
There were so many places to sit and relax and take in the views from this park. They have tennis courts that you can use and also dogs just got to roam free.
I was in San Francisco for two weeks and walking about 2 miles to this park from my hotel. I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable on the walk or at the park. If youโre able to handle the steep streets and stairs I definitely recommend making it a walking visit. Obviously with any city just be aware of your surroundings at anytime or just donโt walk at midnight, LOL.
Safe travels everyone...
