I had a great experience at Kabuki. The theater is beautifully decorated with Japanese style decor. Its a smaller theater that never gets too busy. Its advisable to buy tickets online as they do sell out. On the ground floor is one theater and the ticket area. They have multiple electronic stations to buy or print tickets. Upstairs is the concession area, more theaters, and the bar. The concession area features typical movie fair like popcorn, soda, chips, etc. The full bar has cocktails, beer on tap, and wine. There is lots of seating in the bar area and is a great place to hang out before or after a movie. The drinks are reasonably priced and the service is great! You can now take drinks into any theater. I went before it was purchased by AMC. Its identically expect for some fo the independent touches. But what you gain with the AMC experience is consistent pricing, rewards, consistent experience, etc. Due to the smaller size and the bar, you still get an amazing local experience. Huge parking lot in the basement or on street meters. Next door are lots of restaurants in the Japantown Center. To those that are complaining about the AMC buy out. They are just complaining as they don't like chains or corporate companies, but want local experience at extremely cheap prices. Many business cannot survive in San Francisco due to the rent and labor cost. This is something we have to accept. AMC runs with less staff to save money, but it's the correct amount of staff needed. No one uses real butter for the popcorn. Real butter is expensive, goes rancid, and must be kept warm. The seats are the same as they have always been. I wouldn't be surprised if AMC remodels soon with the new motorized recliner seats they have in all their other theaters.

This theater was near by to where we were doing some sightseeing, while out visiting San Francisco. I noticed the bar area immediately, it was upstairs from the entrance. It had huge lounge chairs/comfy love seats, and dim lighting. It looked different in comparison to other bars in AMC theaters I’ve been to. But the bar was pretty empty, to the point I thought they had it closed for the day. But what wasn’t empty was the concession area, this theater has a very small concession area, like very small. It doesn’t match the size of the theater, or the volume of guests to the theater. The line went all the way to the door to theater room 1, which was the theater we were viewing our movie. I feel they need to re-evaluate that space, because it doesn’t allow for a good flow of line traffic. Plus it blocks entrance from people coming in the theater, who are making their way up the escalator. The theater room itself was massive, with big comfy seats, and it was clean. I am a frequent movie goer, and frequent AMC theaters. Aside from the very cramped concession area, this is a nice theater.

I used to see movies here as a teenager in the 90s. It's trapped in time. I have gone twice in the last 6 months, and both times in theater 6. It was the EXACT SAME as it was in the 90s. Very old, uncomfortable seats. No leg room at all. Almost impossible to get out of your seat and squeeze past people's legs, I was clawing my way to the bathroom on the backs of the row in front of me, barely touching the floor, it was so cramped. Small screen and basic sound system. When I went on a hot October day, there was no AC and it was stifling, like watching a movie in a sauna. The escalator to the top floor was broken as well, but it was fixed on my recent visit in March. The AC was on full blast in the restroom though. So they do have AC in the building.. I only go here if there's something I really want to see that isn't playing at the Metreon. Otherwise, pay a few dollars extra and go downtown to the modern theater.

May have been the worst customer service I've ever received. There had been a fire drill so all movie start times were pushed off by about 1/2 hr. That would have been fine if they could have said when, not given me a random "could be 11:20, maybe closesr to 11...." Then, we went here expressly so we could eat a late meal during the movie. At no point were we told the kitchen was going to be closing early. We were there when it was still open but didn't order because the movie was delayed. We asked (2 separate people) about the open time for the kitchen and we're told they'd be open until after the last show started. But apparently some guy quit, never showimg up for his shift, leaving only one person in the kitchen so they closed up early. I'm not holding them responsible for that guy quitting, but they could have been more forthcoming with information when I specifically asked. If he never showed up (which is what I was told) then someone must have known that already when I got there. Then, I told them I wanted to get some food for the teenagers I had with me, could they tell me where a close-by restaraunt would be. They literally had one next door, which I discovered when i went outside and turned to my right, but the lady inside had directed me to go out and turn left and go 2 or 3 blocks away. The fire alarm and the restaraunts closing were inconveniences. I can deal with those and don't hold them against a business. The ill-informed customer service was totally under their control and that is their business. Train your staff, keep them informed. These people weren't rude, they were clueless. That's on the management, and the management clearly...

Hugely disappointed with the movie experience at this theater especially auditorium 4. I went in to see Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, i was super excited to see it but at this auditorium the only speakers working were the front speakers behind the screen, the speakers on the wall weren’t working(at least tell the paying customers ahead of time this before they make their decision, but instead AMC keeps quite & rips up off) i could’ve gotten up & told management but i decided to stay & make my complain at the end, there were two associates who at the end were cleaning that auditorium & i asked if why the front speakers were the ones working & not the ones on the wall, one of them told me that they have always had issues with the speakers inside that auditorium but told me to talk to management & they could give me a refund so thats what i did & what they get from management? Only a “we’re sorry but yeah the speakers on the walls inside that auditorium don’t work, so no u can’t get a refund.” If i were u i would just boycott this theater until they fix this issue because if people stop going to this theater we’ll all be sending AMC a message across fix the broken stuff inside this theater or nobody will go watch a movie at this location. I am not happy on how management handled this situation. Please AMC don’t ignore this alarming issue going on at...
