I live in the vicinity of the park - hence street parking is not an issue if you live around. Else will need to find street parking around the area. You are presented with a very steep climb - that took me 16 minutes the first time I went there, but if you are a regular, you can be done in 6-7 mins! After which there is a 0.5 mile loop, with great views of SF downtown, Bay Bridge, The Bay, South San Francisco, highway 101 from the top! The pathway is broken asphalt, with minimum or no maintenance from the city. It’s a natural getaway, beautifully silent and the most number of people I’ve seen at a given time is 5. Average is 0-1 people when I visit in the early mornings or evenings.

There is a water tank on top, follow the red steps, but note that it is a very tricky climb to the top, and tougher...

I am always looking for new climbs to tackle on my bike in San Francisco. I'd always seen this hill when driving North on Highway 101 but didn't know how to get there. Several years passed and finally I got around to looking up directions on Google Maps. There is a brutally steep climb on degraded pavement that you have to ride up to get to the top loop road which is also really worn asphalt. But once there you are greeted with beautiful views of the Bay and San Bruno Mountain and of the southernmost SF neighborhoods. There is a dirt path that leads to something called Indian Head Rock which vaguely looks like a human head in profile. Each time I've visited this park it has been just me with the occasional local out walking the dog. A hidden gem in the southeast corner...

This park has so much potential! Kinda like when someone sets you up on a blind date and says that your date has a great personality! 🤣 It’s such a shame that this park is neglected by the city because of its location. There is a fairly challenging elevation gain off of Key street and decent paved trail but absolutely no amenities like a BATHROOM! There is a fairly large open flat area at the top which would be perfect for day use picnicking if they would provide tables, BBQ pits and trash cans. As it is now, it is used by very few people who seem to walk their dogs. It is definitely noisy due to its location next to...
