I grew up in this neighborhood and watched basketball nets oscillate between white nylon nets and grey metal nets -- sometimes (too many times, actually), the basketball rims would go netless. Did the ball go in or not? Who knows.
As for the play area (next to the basketball courts), I remember getting splinters when everything was made of wood (back in the 90's). And emptying my shoes a countless amount of times -- still managing to find residual sand when I got home.
They've definitely upgraded this place since then. No more splinters (it ain't wood no mo'). No more sand (feels like some form of rubbery foam?). Moreover, they've added benches. Nice benches. You know we all love sitting in parks after long walks at the beach. Or long walks in general.
