I'm truly shocked to the core that I have to write a bad review for Nordstrom. My husband needed 2 pairs of suits for two weddings that we will be attending in the coming weeks. We went in late November knowing that that's when the store put a out the best suits due to the holidays. Also, since the weddings were approaching we wanted to make sure we weren't rushed for time in getting the suits. The person helping us instantly knew what suits would look good on my husband, and totally understood the look that my husband was going for. The suits were amazing, the fabric, the color, the fit (we still had to get them tailored but that's to be expected), these suits were perfect.
As you'd expect when going to a store like Nordstrom (especially at Valley Fair mall), these two suits cost a pretty penny (close to $2K). My husband got the suits measured and tailored at this same visit. We were told that once the jacket was done being tailored we would have to come back to get the pants hemmed in the next visit. We received the notice via text that the jacket was done, so we went that weekend to go have my husband get the pants hemmed. Once they got the right measurements/markings on the pants, we left them the suits. They told us that we would receive a notice once both pants were completed.
After the holidays we noticed that we hadn't received our notice yet, so my husband decided to go back to the store to follow up on the status of his two suits. The workers at the pickup area just asked for his name and they had him go sit down. Then they told him to wait as they check a different part of the store. During this 30 minute wait, my husband noticed their faulty process. People would arrive at the pickup area, say a name, recieve an item (without showing ID or a reciept), and they would leave. The department manager approaches my husband, checks his reciept, and informs him that both of his suits had been stolen. Apparently this individual was able to steal the tailored suits, take them to an outlet Nordstrom store in Livermore to exchange for gift cards! We were in utter shock that this happened. With the wedding dates getting closer, we got very stressed (this was exactly what we were trying to avoid and why we had bought the suits early on).
The pickup department manager was able to reorder one of the suits, however the other one was no longer available (of course, this was our favorite one). We waisted more weekends coming back to this store to shop yet again for the suits. To top it all off, the lady that was helping us in the men's suit section was very condescending and had zero empathy that she was just wasting our time (she would have my husband try on suits that wouldn't fit him, or would show us wonderful suits but they no longer had in stock). I was fuming to say the least. The pickup department manager was able to expedite the tailoring and at the end we got his one suit back, the other suit is nowhere near as nice as the first suit we had purchased. We decided to email corporate of this incident as we were very displeased. We received an email saying that the issue had been esacalated to the store manager and that they would respond in 3 business days. It has now been 2 weeks and the store manager never had the decency to respond. When we went back to the store to pick up these two last suits, we noticed they had improved their checkout process, they now check the receipt and ID.
I'm upset that their faulty process allowed someone to make off with over $2K in gift cards, I'm upset that our time was wasted due to their faulty process, I'm upset due to the incompitance of the lady helping us out on the second run in the men's suit department, and after going through all that...I'm upset because we never even got a response from the store manager! Nordstrom is supposed to be reputable and trustworthy company, come to find out their customer service is severely lacking. Looks like I'll have to buy my brand names from Neiman...
Read moreI’ve been a customer at Nordstrom for 20 years, and today, 1/18/2025, I received the utmost disappointing customer service ever. I was buying a bottle of cologne for a birthday present, MFK cologne, to be exact. After the purchase, I wonder around the store to shop until I was told by a family member that the cologne was no longer needed. So I thought to myself, let me just make a return since I’m still here. I proceed down to the MFK department to return, the associate went to grab the suppose manager on duty for that department to make the return. She can to the counter and without looking at me, gouged at the unopened bottle like it was feeding time at the zoo. She went one investigating the bottle up and down, back and forth like it was the Crow Jewel or something. She then accused me of bringing in a wrong bottle and that she can’t return it because it doesn’t look real. I haven’t left yet, and the bottle has been in the bag since I purchased it an hour ago. After the blunt accusation, she gathered everything up like a toddler pushing toys off the table and gave it back to me saying she can’t do anything. Then she proceed to walk away. Through my years with Nordstrom, this is the first and I’ll make sure its also the last that I shop in this particular institution. I was investigated and accused for making a some purchase. The customer service was uncouth and downright garbage. If I wanted to be treated like a criminal, I would go to Walmart. Take my advice, stay away from the MFK department at the Nordstrom Valley Fair. Every other departments are find, they’re nice people with good customer service skill. I live far away from a Nordstrom, so I like to go in and experience to good service that Nordstrom usually give, but this time is just nasty. I’ll keep my business online from now on so I don’t have to experience this kind of prejudice again. As a big corporation, Nordstrom should considered who deserve managerial position and who doesn’t because the one that I got, she was too power hungry that she disrespected her customers. You’re working at a high end retail store, show some class. Avoid shopping at the MFK department, if it’s something that you want, its better to take it online or...
Read moreThis incident occurred on October 21, 2023 Sunday, between 4 PM and 4:44 PM. Nordestrom resturant on the 3rd floor in Westfield, Santa Clara. Even, the one star review is not worth it for the staffs nor the Nordstrom resturant!
I'd like to register a complaint about Nordstrom restaurant. We experienced a lack of friendliness from the staff, who ignored our questions and presence. Additionally, when we asked for a menu, we received no response from the three staff members. An older lady eventually took one of our orders, but then tried to delegate the rest to a colleague without justification.
Despite being the only customers, we were left uncertain about whether we needed to pay immediately or after our food arrived. The staff seemed to assume we were ordering for takeout, and only after siting at the table the staff came after 5 min and asked us. They even saw us going to the table to sit without saying anything. So, we clarified that we wanted to dine in and they mention we should order from the table, even though no one had asked us before.
During our meal, no waitress inquired about our satisfaction or needs, leaving us feeling overlooked. It raises concerns about whether our treatment was based on our attire, specifically the headscarf, and that we’re Muslims. Also, whether such attire influences how customers are treated. The staff who interacted with us included an old lady with long blonde hair, a young lady with long blonde hair, and a disrespectful girl with a nose piercing and long black hair. The initial staff member who ignored us was the girl with the nose piercing. The disregard from the girl who ignored us when we attempted to place an order was palpable. She didn't acknowledge our presence or offer any response.
What struck us most was the stark difference in her behavior when other customers arrived later. She greeted them warmly and efficiently took their orders, but with us, she seemed to go out of her way to avoid any interaction. We were right in front of her, and there were no other patrons around. The staff didn’t even take to table like they did with...
