Giving Venchi 5 on 5 review even though we stood in the line for 40 mins on a Friday night.
Food: If I could give more stars then I would, the gelato was simply amazing and the texture was perfect for a true gelato ice-cream. It wasn't melting straightway, it held its form nicely and just tasted marvelous.
Flavors: We tried Mango with Berry Cheesecake in a cup and then an Afogato with their Tuscan Cream flavor.
Service: Barring the wait times because the product tastes so good, the service was excellent. The team there was efficient and they were trying to connect with the customers as they were serving them their ice-cream. My server started joking about having an Afogato at 9 PM and asked if he needs to call the Coffee Police. We laughed and I asked for his suggestion for the gelato in the coffee, I told him that I like something chunky/chewy as I drink it and he gave me a novel suggestion. He asked me to sample Tuscan Cream and it tasted really good, I knew it would go well with the double espresso shot. Now, he added a bunch of Hazelnut cruchy toppings to satisfy my requirements. All in all, the afogato tasted terrific and it finally beats Penny Creamery from Santa Cruz.
Ambiance: You can see from the pictures yourself, the ambiance is really nice and the decorations on the left side of the store is Instagram worthy as well as taking nice pictures of your gelato. Another thing to mention here is that the chocolate that they have flowing in the background, I was curious and I asked them about it. They confirmed that its real chocolate with a lot of oil in it to make it shine/glimmer.
PS: They sell a lot more than just ice-cream and coffee. They have a small store-like area where they display and sell other products. I'll check it out next time and...
Read moreVery pretty and visually stimulating store front! We joined the reward program and got a free chocolate bar. You order the size first then you can try flavors before finalizing what you want.
I loved the ability to get a chocolate covered cone with raspberry dust, so fun and pretty! The mango is delicious and the 75% dark chocolate was the best dark chocolate flavor I've ever had, yum...the consistency, the hint of sweetness, the cocoa, all of it came together. The strawberry stracciatella was good too.
I appreciate that they gave us two chocolate pieces since I was sharing one cone with my husband. However, I knocked off a star because the portion was smaller than expected. The three scoops did not fill the large cone. Either make the cone smaller or fill the size of the cone. When our server was scooping, I can see her get a big scoop then smear some back into the container before giving us clearly a smaller portion in the cone. It's like they have a size they need to maintain even though our cone was big enough for it. The group in front of us had a medium cone and it felt like their scoops were larger than ours. I didn't mind the price as much as I was bothered at how overly large our cone was in comparison to the scoops in it.
There's some but not a lot of seating area in the mall immediately next to Venchi. You can certainly go to another part of the mall and have access to more seating to enjoy your treat.
We came around 30 mins after opening so we didn't wait long. Usually when we walk pass Venchi after noon, the line is way longer. Save yourself the time and arrive...
Read moreVery disappointing and poor customer service. I decided to try this place because they had a very nice display and the line was packed. My wife and daughter were shopping so I had time.
The first lady I spoke with at the register was very nice and helpful. I decided to order the 1-lb take-out ( $18.90 /lb). I However, I sampled almost every gelato they had and was very disappointed. I could not find two good flavors. I changed my order to the "Regular cone" that comes with 2 flavors.
I saw they had a special, individual pieces of chocolate for $2 each. I asked the lady what's the normal price was, and she told me they would go by the weight (really). She weighed them, and it came out to about $3 each. I got 4 pieces because of the promotional price.
When I checked out to pay. After I chose my two flavors, the guy weighed the chocolate pieces, I told him the lady at the counter told me they were $2 each (promotion price). He seemed confused and asked another female employee. The other employee was rude and told me, "No, they go by the weight." I told asked her to look at the sign by the register where it says $2. She was rude and said that's not the promotion, I told her thatI don't want anymore.
Since she was rude and unprofessional, I told her, "No problem, I would leave a review on Google and she replied, "Go ahead,...
