Me and a group of local college students were fortunate enough to receive a special tour of the VASC building during its soft opening. What we saw was incredible and inspiring for the Vietnamese community, to the point that I feel this is one of the most legendary and ambitious projects to shake the meaning of what a Service Center can do.
Nearly every part of the building, from its exterior to interior, is highly aesthetic and had deep, culturally significant meaning in the art and design. The entire building is extremely comfortable and artistic, and the staff are all nice, friendly and helpful! The vibe and atmosphere is so nice that it feels like a second home and I would love to visit again!
The multitude of services offered left a deep impression, such as social services, senior nutrition, the full gamut of medical and dental care with trained professionals, resources and rooms catered towards children, seniors, and adults of all ages, community programs, a food pantry, and more valuable services available whether you have insurance or no insurance at all. Each room cemented the lasting impression that this center was created by the Vietnamese community, for the Vietnamese community. All made possible by the passionate leaders who surveyed and studied the needs of Vietnamese families and seniors for years and years.
Everything is backed by state of the art technology and design to make accessible and thoughtful additions to fit everyone's needs with dignity and comfort, from those who may be young, old, and those who need more accessibility. As a recent college graduate, I wasn't aware that even the chairs and tables at the center could be advanced, practical AND comfy like that, so it's impressive even for someone of my age.
Many of the staff and managers are long time community role models who have been deeply involved in supporting the Vietnamese community, and I recognize and trust their knowledge and passion for helping others.
At the core of this building's inception was the need to address the long-neglected Vietnamese community and senior community, which was revealed with statistics to be suffering from some of the highest mortalities in preventable illness due to lack of resources. This building is one of the most awe-inspiring buildings I have ever seen, and at the time of this review, the 3rd floor was still being finished, so it will be even better when complete.
As a Vietnamese American who has felt the neglect and lack of accessibility with how the government addressed the Vietnamese community, I can finally see some light and I know that our community and elders will be in good hands with this center.
I can't wait for the day the entire center is complete and has its...
Read moreWhat a great addition to the community! I made an appointment for flu and COVID vaccines through the Valley Health website. It was easy and straightforward. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment. I checked in at the pharmacy on the second floor and filled out the forms. The pharm tech who helped me was very nice and efficient, so was the pharmacist who administered my vaccines. It was a pleasant experience. I also appreciate how the parking lot was spacious. I'll definitely be making another appointment for my family members and looking into the other services offered here. Thank you for serving...
