Zuka African Foods — Attraction in San Jose

Foods you can't find elsewhere. I got a bottle of Ribena current juice concentrate for my boss because he lived in England for some years where it's a common drink but it's hard to find in the US. The owners/staff are VERY helpful and gracious!

Two neat finds here: A drink called "Malta" which is a sort of non-alcoholic, malt drink. It's sort of like Guinness Stout with less bitterness and not a beer. It's interesting and worth a try. Also, some banana chips called "Exotic Chips" I grew up in Hawaii and know too much about banana chips, and these are the best I've ever had. Not too sweet, thin, lightly salted, and only $1.50 a bag.

I don’t really know much about African food but I found this place randomly and bought a couple of snacks. They sell Kilishi, which is a kind of Nigerian beef jerky, and I loved it so much I came back and bought all the Kilishi they had in stock LOL. The spicyness is pretty intense but as you eat it you kind of get used to it and can’t stop eating.
