I've been a customer at Mod- at many different locations across the country- over the years and have never had to write to complain about anything in all that time. However, my recent experiences at a location in the San Jose area- Brokaw St, I believe it is- really calls for this feedback and immediate attention to that location by your company.
I traveled to the area, from Arizona, to drop my daughter off to college. We were staying in a hotel very close by and we decided we wanted a pizza and two salads. We ordered the pizza and then proceeded to order two of the same build you own salads. The first thing we noticed was how unappealing everything looked. It was dirty on the toppings bar and ingredients were fallen into all sorts of other bins. As I started our salad order, first, they were out of romaine. Fine, I'll choose a different one. Then I ordered onions. They were out of onions. Next, I ordered tomatoes. You guessed it! Out of tomatoes. Not an apology or anything from this employee. More like a nonchalant, oh well type attitude. Then I asked for croutons. No croutons. You can't make this up. At this point, my salad consisted of the wrong Lettuce, chickpeas, and olives. I was started to lose my cool, although I didn't show it to the employee. I thought, ok, make the most of this and just get dressing. Low and behold, no balsamic! You can't make this up! I then told him I didn't want a salad any longer. It would have been ridiculous to pay $12 for a salad with 3 ingredients. Still no apology or anything, just"OK" and moved on. My daughter decided to take hers and use Ranch instead. I'm not a fan of heavy dressings, but she did take hers and ate it. I told the other employee at the register what had happened, as my salad was sitting off to the side. He was as disinterested as a stranger, while discussing who was getting out of prison with another employee getting pizzas out of the oven. I went elsewhere and brought my food back to your restaurant. Ad much as it pained me, we went back two days later because, again, this was close and I figured we could give them another chance. Once again, no onions, no tomatoes. I explained to this employee (different than the others from the previous visit) what had happened two days prior. He said, "Yeah. They got slammed. It happens!" MY GOD, does anyone have any empathy or customer service skills at this location? A simple, "I'm sorry about that. Here's a drink on the house" or anything would have been better than the lack of any sort of caring.
As I mentioned from the get go, I've eaten at Mod in many places and have always had fresh ingredients and warm and welcoming employees. I know this isn't indicative of how things operate for the business, but it does seem that it IS the way things operate at that...
Read moreHello, sooooo I placed my order around 11:20 AM earlier today, November 2, 2018. I had been talking about MOD Pizza for so long and couldn't wait to take my boyfriend. Well him and I both arranged to meet for lunch, so I thought hey there's a new MOD Pizza near both of us and this would work out so we can get back to work in a timely manner. Well, thinking ahead, I went ahead and placed an ORDER ONLINE, said it'd be ready at 12:23 PM. I was running a little late and I didn't want the order to be thrown out, well the phone rang and rang and rang again. I was almost there so I didn't try calling again. I park and its somewhat busy, but the line isn't long since this was right at lunch time. And mind you I walk in thinking my food is ready for me to pick up and jet so I can get back to work.. ......... Yeah, no...I go to where the ONLINE ORDERING PICK UP is and well the girl there must of put 10 or so pizzas to rotate before even noticing me, matter of fact she did not notice me... I get it she is working, ya ya ya, but I placed my order online and it SHOULD be ready....I was even running late and already paid. So, I had to ask her if the order was ready and sure enough IT WAS NOT. Boy oh boy, and what was suggested was to REFUND ME! What the **!!!?!?!? I just wanted my food, I had been talking up MOD Pizza this and MOD Pizza that and how you can choose all your own toppings, OMG and the blackberry lemonade OH EM GEE it's tooooo DIE for! Yeah, well I haven't had MOD Pizza in over a year and the time I chose to order online, AHEAD of time, thinking I am VIP because I ordered online and paid already that no way in hell will I receive bottom of the barrel Little Cesear's service....nope I did, it was just that, the only difference is Little Cesar's would have at least made sure I didn't walk out empty handed. I am very disappointed, I still love your lemonade, but yeah. Please refund the amount back the card if I was charged, not sure, don't really care.
So after I was offered the refund, I left because I was on lunch and NEEDED TO GET BACK TO WORK! One of the reasons why people offer to order ahead of time and/or online.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Regards, One Very Unhappy Customer
PS- My boyfriend and I couldn't eat anything for lunch, after...
Read moreI wish there should be star for bad service in which this store will consistently get 5 stars. This is my first time ordering from this place. I placed an online order and went there to pickup. There were people already waiting in online pickup line to get their pizza. They should not have to wait there because that line is for the people whose order is ready for pickup. I realized they are waiting in pickup line and told them that my order has well past the pickup time and requested them I need to check with the person there. The delivery person didn't attend me even though I went forward near the counter. I was puzzled is it a store or some scrap handling place. While I was waiting, he called the other person and delivered the pizza. After that I went forward to get his attention but he didn't look at me at all. What! is this a store!!! To keep the distance from other person who is standing very close I move to the corner of the counter where there was entrance to inside and then CALLED HIM multiple times. He came and yelled at me and asked me to come near him just one step backward. I asked why I should not stand there. He said that's an entrance. Fine, I went there to keep social distance. He should have behaved properly even if I'm not standing at the right place. I guess management should have taught them work ethics and customer handling training. I should have left the pizza there for their bad service but I didn't want to behave like him. So, I picked up the pizza. You can get the pizza for cheap prize but you will not get the respect as a customer. I will not go to this place again even they offer free pizza. This happened on 1/30/22 at 7:45pm. I don't know the person name who was at the online pickup counter but he would know when he reads...
