To my shock and absolute disgust, I found a cockroach inside the cake box! This is a stark revelation of poor hygiene standards and sheer negligence of health parameters that any establishment dealing with food should uphold.
In the world of baking or any culinary business, cleanliness and food safety are two non-negotiable elements. My experience with Anton SV Patisserie shows a flagrant disregard for both. It is not only nauseating but also a serious health risk.
Despite the possibility that the cake might have tasted good, the idea of a cockroach crawling around it undoubtedly had severe ramifications on my appetite. I could neither taste the cake nor offer it to my family. The incident not only ruined my special day but also left me feeling repulsed and concerned about the food hygiene standards at this patisserie.
What transpired was hardly what I expected from a reputed joint like Anton SV Patisserie. My complaint to the management has been filed and I am awaiting their response to this appalling incident. I hope they take appropriate actions to rectify their health standards and redeem their lost reputation.
While I understand that accidents may happen, finding a cockroach inside a cake box is far beyond an acceptable mishap. To me, this indicates a potential systemic issue, hinting at a lack of regular and thorough health check-ups.
On behalf of all customers who have trusted in your service, I urgently request Anton SV Patisserie to address this problem. Meanwhile, I advise potential customers to consider this incident before placing an order.
In conclusion, the entire ordeal was deeply distressing and a major turn-off. My appetite, excitement, and trust in Anton SV Patisserie have met with sheer disappointment. This experience has been enough for me never to risk ordering from them again.

Read moreI stumbled upon Anton ages ago...well before it became extremely popular, just never got around to trying it. Finally the opportunity presented itself. I needed a Cake...something unique, something that stands out for a special occasion. My thoughts lead towards Burnt Almond from a certain bakery...all you locals know who I'm referring to...or Anton. I hadn't looked at Anton in a while, I believe they expanded the menu a bit. There are some new items I don't recall seeing.
My options were to purchase a whole cake...which is one flavor or to get several sets of slices with different flavors that will roughly make up a cake. Being the adventurous foodie I am, I choose the later. I ended up getting three sets of slices. Each set comes with two slices of cake. Anton has a brilliant system going on. It's self explanatory and easy to use. I ordered ahead due to the risk of slices selling out. I placed the order on a Tuesday, selected a time slot of pick up on Saturday and paid for it. Simple and easy.
Looks like Anton rents a commercial kitchen, as the store / bakery is located in an industrial / office complex. They don't have a traditional store front. Ample amount of parking in the area, it also easy to find...there were people waiting outside to pick-up and order items.

~ Signature Flavor - Hokkaido Milk Mille Crêpes Slice Set -5/5 Had to try this bad boi! I mean IT IS their signature flavor! With a light and flaky texture, Chocolaty, yet creamy and milky, echoing a hue slightly earthy flavors this is simply brilliant!
~ Black Sesame Mille Crêpes Slice Set - 5/5 I think the Black Sesame ties or just edges past the Hokkaido flavor for me. Once again; light and fluffy with a hint of Toasted Black Sesame nuttiness...if that is a word. It was even topped with a perfect Grape! I swear they put effort in to picking the perfect Grape. The Grape was firm, plump, juicy and sweet...ridiculousness!
~ Matcha Mille Crêpes Slice Set - 5/5 Surprisingly this was my least favourite of the three! I found that odd since I'm a huge Machaholic! There was nothing wrong with the flavor or the cake... The other two flavors were just better!! This one does have a fairly potent Matcha flavor and is not all that sweet...just a warning for those with a sweet tooth that are expecting something on the sugary side.
I can't wait to go through the rest...
Read moreA few words to that may help you describe their crepe cakes: amazing, delectable, satisfying, delightful, exquisite, and glorious. No matter what word you use, there is no one word that can really describe exactly how phenomenal their crepe cakes are.
I found this place accidentally as I scrambled to find a place to buy a crepe cake for my wife's birthday. Lady M (in Palo Alto) was closed on her special day for no apparent reason! Anton SV Patisserie was located in San Jose which was definitely a further drive for me. However, I was on a mission and wouldn't let anything stop me. I pre-ordered the black sesame cake online and made the adventure down the peninsula. Upon approaching the location I was frankly a bit confused as it didn't look like a place for a food establishment, let alone a high class one. In fact the setting was more of a quiet small business type of vibe. I thought for sure I was in the wrong place as I followed my trusty friend, Google Maps. She led me towards the back of one of the complexes where I located Anton SV Patisserie tucked away. Upon arrival I called the business and they promptly came out with the cake and even offered me a candle and a "Happy Birthday" sign to place on top for the occasion. Per the recommendation of the patisserie, we kept the cake refridgerated one we got home until we were ready to serve it.
It was quite an exciting moment when it came to the cake cutting part of the evening. We opened the box and really got to look at the cake and it appeared nice and simple. The cake itself was a charcoal like color with halved grapes that lined the perimeter and a couple of dried fruit (berries?) in the center area and a light dusting of what I suspect was powdered sugar. When we finished admiring the cake we finally got to the cutting and tasting. I can certainly attest that this cake doesn't disappoint. The texture was nice and soft and felt like several individual layers (obviously for a crepe cake). The flavor of the black sesame was light and not overpowering. I had previously tasted the green tea crepe cake from Lady M which was good, but felt on the heavy side after one slice. This cake was much lighter and I felt as though I could consume the whole cake by myself. In the end we were all thrilled to have been able to experience this heavenly work of...
