I have a neurological condition and an autoimmune condition. During the fires I took my ADA-complaint task trained dog to the mall to walk. I use a scooter for long walks and we were scooting around the mall when the security guard denied us access to part of the mall because of my "pet" who people might be "afraid of or allergic to". All of this is illegal. She also said he was "not working". I educated her on the laws and explained he isnt a pet, he is a service dog. Should other people be in the mall with those concerns we would happily arrange to avoid them but this was not the case. My dog was perfectly behaved. My dog provides life saving support to me and we were denied our civil rights.
The mall is giving me the run around about the incident and no one has even apologized to me. I asked them to provide more training to staff and they say they already did. So sad and...
Read moreNearly every store space was empty. Many of the surviving stores blocked off access from the inside. Bed Bath and Beyond (which is blocked off from the inside) was having a closing sale. The only stores solely accessible from the inside I saw were Sam's Jewelers and Panda Express (the only food court option). With no customers to attend to, every employee I saw was sitting/standing around bored out of their mind.
The interior layout felt like a maze. Each path led to a dead end, and I had to go through Macy's just to get to the other side. Combined with the dim lighting and few passersby, it hardly felt comforting.
I'd never been here prior, so I have no idea how this place used to operate. As of now, though, it's effectively defunct. With the possible exception of the exterior stores, I can't see it surviving longer than a...
Read moreIt's a nice mall but the problem is right now due to the Coronavirus mall is closed to foot traffic. There are some stores that are accessible from the outside but no one can go inside the mall which is a real bummer. Right now, you can go to Kohl's, Target, Jamba Juice, and a few other small places, but like I said stores in the mall are closed. When the mall is open, it's a nice small but there are lots of vacancies and that has been a problem for a while and the food court is practically empty which is really sad. The upper level is just about completely empty, but the stores that are there are good and it's a cool Mall to hang out for a while but who knows when it will be open again? Oh, and Macy's is also open and so is Bed Bath & Beyond. Oh and...
