For 30 years I’ve been experiencing Central Park and I feel so lucky! I’ve jogged through the rose garden, said hello to the statues, rubbed the dog’s nose, strolled in the Japanese Garden, put on a party at the Community Center, played tennis on the courts, played softball on the field, enjoyed soft ice cream at concessions, ice skated, watched my young kids go round and round in the small train, go up and down, climb higher and higher on the structure, learn to do the monkey bars, held birthday and sports end of season parties and baby showers in the grove, bought plants and attended art shows in the plant shop, observed morning tai chi from the bench, staffed a table at the Pride festival, ate chili and drank beer at the chili festival, picnicked and played soccer, T ball, volleyball and frisbee in the grassy middle, reflected on lowered flags, admired the storytelling signs during Covid, watched dance recitals and Shakespeare, danced, chatted, and grazed at summer concerts, learned ceramics, honored our sister city in Japan and now heroes from San Mateo, meditated in the gazebo, and over and over again met new and old friends in our beautiful community hub!

This place are the lungs of Central San Mateo, without counting Coyote Point. A very nice and complete Park with a lot of history an small Train on the weekend, Japanese Garden, swings, and a playground for kids complete with Tennis court the ones we used today. Grass Areas picnic tables. I will upload a photo of a Giraffe that is s nice piece of Art.

A nice, multi-use public park. Stroll through a fenced-off section of the park which is the Japanese garden and participate in Koi fish feeding (set time schedule).

There's a nursery in the main part of the park where you can buy volunteer-grown orchids and succulents, among other flower or veg/fruit bearing plants. This is located near a beautiful and fragrant rose garden. Classes on gardening and floral arrangements are offered in the nursery.

There's a baseball/softball field by the underground parking and tennis courts directly above the parking. There's also a kiln room that goes with the pottery class next to the baseball field. Register online at San Mateo parks and rec for classes offered.

A senior citizen, activity center is within the park (next to Japanese...

Well I was out flying my drone, the third one that I've had. The first two I parked in the same place. Same tree, same branch ! Think I would've learned something? I had to go buy another drone, they're just too fun to fly. Long as I don't get too high, like the first two, right ? Third-times a charm, at least for the first Central Park flight. It was successful I didn't park it in the tree.. so I got to bring it back home for a recharge, there's plenty of time to park it in...
