San Mateo Performing Arts Center — Attraction in San Mateo

Poor parking which cannot accommodate the size of the venue’s audience is the largest reason to go elsewhere. Disabled parking took a full parking lot behind the center and spilled over into the limited general parking which could hold maybe 150 cars more tops. Neighborhood parking is out of the question for miles around the Center too. We arrived 45 minutes early so there should have easily been space if it was planned for. But it appears planning wasn’t done to accommodate this. So either get a drop off or Uber/Lyft in. After a fruitless search for a spot in the neighborhoods we gave up and went home. Thank god we didn’t buy into the series. Acoustics are excellent inside and seating accommodates a large range of butt/body sizes. management did a terrible job handling a cancellation. they never replied to me when I emailed asking questions. The phone number they posted for information has been busy for 48 hours. they have a responsibility to answer to the public... they abrogated that...

Great venue. Good acoustics. Parking behind the center (the one covered by solar panels). It looks big but even though we were an hour early, only a few spots were open. Coming out of the parking lot at the same time as everyone else...
