Please be wary of a RED CHEVY EQUINOX
I came here to skate with my friend (17 and 16) and my little sisters (7 and 9). Looking for the skatepark area, we did multiple circles of the park. We found it on Google maps and found out we were in the wrong area, so we drove over to the community center. We noticed a red chevy equinox had followed us to the back of the parking lot and the man (40s-50s) never got out or turned off his car or anything. My friend and I noted this immediately. After about 10 minutes of him sitting up there just watching us, we decided it would be better to just head back to where we were initially. We drive back to the park and stop next to the basketball court. My friend gets out to help my sisters as I'm putting up the sunshade. Just as she gets out, the same car parks 2 spots away from us. I told my friend to get back in and we started to drive away. He started following immediately so I pulled off the road and let him pass. He got around the corner and pulled off into a parking lot, then as we passed him, he pulled out behind us again.
By this point it is clear he is following us, so I speed up to about 35mph and a car gets between him and I. I then sped up to about 50 while he was being forced back a ways and quickly pulled into Walmart. He didn't see us until he passed his turn-off, so he pulled into Quik-Trip. My friend saw him pull in so I weaved through the Walmart parking lot to the Public Safety Facility next door, and from that parking lot we were able to see him driving down each row in the walmart parking lot, presumably looking for us.
We went inside and made a police report. The dispatcher and the cop we spoke to took us seriously despite us being a group of kids with no proof. They sent out 2 officers (that we saw) to look in the lot and the surrounding area. I don't believe they found him, but they stayed searching for him for a long period of time and we appreciate their efforts so much.
Stay safe and keep your eyes open! I'm so...
Read moreCase community park has 3 playgrounds, a splash pad, baseball complex, soccer complex, disk golf course, skatepark, and a large, paved trail system. After you drive past the large community center building, there is a sign for the baseball parking lot, then the next area is the splash pad and first playground. The next parking lot has another, all purpley-blue playground by the soccer fields after crossing the bridge over the spillway from the fountain. The final parking lot has the largest playground with a toddler section and larger ropes course area. This one has picnic tables and benches, some covered some not. The cottonwoods, sycamores, and other trees are particularly large for this area. The softball fields are next, followed by the disk golf course down the main road. The BMX event park is at...
