Learned about Bell Canyon from someone we met who used to live in Utah. He came back recently for a work project and this was one of his first stops. He said he broke down and cried because he was overwhelmed by its beauty. Having just gone through all the Utah national parks and a few state ones, I would say it's not the most beautiful but it was by far the most enjoyable to hike. In fact, I think Bell Canyon is why I'm now experiencing hiking withdrawal back home. At Bell Canyon, the journey is as rewarding as the destination. If I lived in Sandy, I would be here at least once a week. The waterfall at the top promises something to look forward to, and although it is a nice waterfall, the trail was difficult enough that I might not care to hike this trail again. Even super fit men had to take breaks. It’s VERY steep about a quarter mile before the falls.
