Learned about Bell Canyon from someone we met who used to live in Utah. He came back recently for a work project and this was one of his first stops. He said he broke down and cried because he was overwhelmed by its beauty. Having just gone through all the Utah national parks and a few state ones, I would say it's not the most beautiful but it was by far the most enjoyable to hike. In fact, I think Bell Canyon is why I'm now experiencing hiking withdrawal back home. At Bell Canyon, the journey is as rewarding as the destination. If I lived in Sandy, I would be here at least once a week. Parking lot is nice, bathroom is clean, picnic benches are well-placed for scenic views, and I love how the mile markers are in reference to the...

The new parking lot and the flushing bathrooms are great place to start the hike. The hike was perfect for our family, the youngest hiker was 4 and she did great. The trail could be better marked but we eventually found it. We wanted to hike around the lake but couldn't figure it out so turned around about half way. So fun and a great starter hike for kiddos. There are water fountains and a water bottle filling...

This was a hard hike. The waterfall at the top promises something to look forward to, and although it is a nice waterfall, the trail was difficult enough that I might not care to hike this trail again. Even super fit men had to take breaks. It’s VERY steep about a quarter mile before the falls.

I don’t recommend this hike for beginners, and I’d say to make sure you have plenty of water with you! About 2...

Fun place to winter hike! This trail has some switchbacks which are a little tricky coming down, but if you have poles or yak tracks you should be good. This hike branches to other ones and has a big parking lot. There is a parking lot below the hill as well so confirm with your group if you are meeting with them.
