Hotel room bate and switch
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with my recent experience at your establishment. My wife and I had booked a beachfront hotel room, looking forward to a much-needed weekend getaway from our demanding jobs. However, our experience was far from what we anticipated and has left us feeling deceived and deeply dissatisfied.
Upon arrival, we discovered that we were not booked at the beachfront hotel as advertised. Instead, we were assigned a room at an inn half a mile from the beach, a fact that was never disclosed during the booking process. This bait-and-switch tactic is completely unacceptable, especially after our five-hour drive from San Diego to Santa Barbara.
To make matters worse, the surroundings of the inn were unsettling. We were greeted by individuals engaging in illicit activities across the street from our room, creating an unsafe and uncomfortable environment. The inn itself was in poor condition, with aged, mildew-scented carpets and overall shabby accommodations, certainly not worth the $500 per night rate.
When we attempted to address these issues with the front desk, the manager offered a bottle of wine as a consolation, which never arrived. We also witnessed another couple, who happened to be Hilton employees, immediately receive a room at the beachfront hotel after expressing similar complaints. This preferential treatment further exacerbated our dissatisfaction.
Additionally, we were charged twice for parking, despite having prepaid for it. It was only after pointing this out to the front desk agent that the charge was corrected.
The overall experience was nothing short of a disaster. The subpar accommodations, coupled with the staff's inability to effectively address our concerns, ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend. The unfulfilled promises and apparent disregard for guest satisfaction have left a lasting negative impression.
I regret choosing your hotel for our getaway and feel that my hard-earned money was wasted on what amounted to a false promise of a beachfront stay. I hope that you take this feedback seriously and work to improve your services to prevent other guests from experiencing such...
Read moreA charming seaside getaway in Santa Barbara
As someone who loves to travel, Santa Barbara was a must-visit destination on my list. And it didn't disappoint! This place offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural attractions, and coastal charm.
One of the highlights of Santa Barbara is its stunning coastline, which is perfect for swimming, surfing, and sunbathing. The beaches are clean, and the water is crystal clear. I also enjoyed exploring the nearby mountains and hiking trails, which offered breathtaking views of the ocean and the city.
In terms of culture, Santa Barbara has a lot to offer. The city is home to many museums, art galleries, and historic landmarks, such as the Santa Barbara Mission. I highly recommend taking a walking tour of downtown Santa Barbara to explore its architecture, shops, and restaurants.
While I had a great time in Santa Barbara, there were a few things that could be improved. For example, the traffic can be quite heavy during peak hours, which can make it challenging to get around the city. Additionally, some of the restaurants and shops can be a bit expensive, which may not be suitable for travelers on a budget.
To improve the experience, the city could invest more in public transportation and affordable dining options. Nevertheless, the unique features of Santa Barbara make it a must-visit destination for anyone who loves coastal towns, rich culture, and scenic beauty.
Overall, I highly recommend Santa Barbara as a charming seaside getaway for anyone looking for a unique and authentic experience. I would definitely come back to this place, and I encourage others to add it to their travel...
Read moreI really like this beach. It's vast, so there are a lot of places to play or sit or whatever feels good to you. A couple of things to keep in mind, the sand gets extra HOT in the summer! Do not try to walk on it without some kind of covering on your feet. This is no joke! You can get burned - this goes double for the blacktop in the parking area. The other thing, parking is hard to get in those lots on either side, especially on the weekends. My suggestion, park by the zoo, and walk across the street. Your parking will be free, the lot parking isn't free, and you'll need a credit or debit card to pay for parking. There is a restaurant on the premises in the renovated Cabrillo Pavillion. The Cabrillo Pavillion is beautiful! If you want to hold a party/wedding/event there, it has amazing views and excellent staff. It's a big, beautiful beach. There is a lot going on...you can pick up a volleyball game, paddle board, surf, swim, or just sit and listen to the sounds around you. Bring a umbrella, towel, shoes, sunscreen, a cool beverage, and a...
