Very similar to Hermosa Beach in LA. Fairly clean sand near the water’s edge (bit dirty closed to the parking lot), somewhat gradual water slope, not too strong and also not dead, good place for toddlers under parental watch. The east beach parking lot is ok, you have to keep circling to find a spot. Parking is $2/hr or $12/day, very fair. Very short walk from parking lot to beach. The public restroom is in the building that has the Reunion Kitchen restaurant. Men restroom far left, women far right. Read moreWe visited Santa Barbara on our way to San Francisco. Mainly we visited the waterfront area which is the part of east beach which is in front of Skater's park and palm garden's parking. We were there early morning so there was nobody on the beach except us. There was a jetty on our right side and the beach was extended afar to the east side. Tourist Information Center was right across the road on the corner of the square. And public restrooms were just right behind it. Read moreGreat beach! There are Volleyball courts on the beach, usually filled with eye-candy. This beach is close to the bird refuge and the Cabrillo Art's Center. It's a big, wide beach. Lots of sand. Make sure you wear shoes when the sun is beaming down on the sand, it gets mega HOT. There is some street parking, and a public lot (unmanned) that requires a creditcard to pay. If you park near the the side of the bird refuge, you must park backwards in the slots. PLEASE remember to pick up your trash. Take care of our beaches....
