Santa Clarita Motel - Six Flags Magic Mountain - Valencia — Attraction in Santa Clarita

My experience echoes the reviews I read through prior to booking my stay. This was nice and close to Magic Mountain (still have to drive, it is several miles away, but very easy, straight shot access). The price was far less than any other nearby competition, and for the price, I was very happy with the stay. The room looked clean and smelled clean and was tastefully decorated and colorful. Someone could nitpick that drywall repairs were sloppy and there was grime build up on the bathroom door and doorjamb, but it also could have just been staining - I wasn't interested in scrubbing to test it. The floors were nice, newer vinyl plank which looked clean and freshly mopped. Bathroom was clean and shower actually had good water pressure (especially for a California motel). Overall, I was pleased with the room that I would recommend as a quick place to stay on the cheap, and I plan to come back on my next Magic Mtn trip. I also saw first-hand the negative things people commented on in their reviews. This property is small and the parking lot is squeezed between the two buildings. There appears to be one (small) parking spot per room, but not assigned as such, and the lot does fill up. I arrived at about 9pm and there were two parking spots left: one had full size trucks on both sides with tires over the line and a normal car would not fit in between. I took the last actually useable parking stall. Check-in was a breeze with a polite young man at the front counter (I pre-paid through booking-dot-com), and check-out was equally easy, with no surprise charges or changes to the reservation. The motel is on Railroad Rd, which is a multi lane, 50mph thoroughfare, so the comments about road noise are valid. I set my room AC to fan-only and left it on all night as white noise which was great for drowning out the road noise and I slept like a log through the night. The comfortable bed helps with that, too. No breakfast, but even after buying breakfast at a diner nearby, I was still saving a considerable amount over booking one of the other hotels in the area. Overall, highly recommended for anyone just looking for a place to catch a shower and some Zzzs...

Have stayed here once before and it was fine. Nothing special, clean&quiet just outdated feeling is all. For the price, would not normally complain...So the first visit would have been 4 stars. Our stay this time was not so pleasant. We arrived late at night but had a reservation from a few weeks ahead. When we got there the staff member found our reservation but said it showed someone already in our room and the rest of the motel was booked. So he told us to go knock on our room and see if anyone is in there and gave us keys to the room. Did not want to do it himself, but had us check to see if there was random people in our room. Luckily there was not so we stayed the night. When we came back the second night we found that our keycards no longer worked and after getting them fixed we found a few electrical outlets did not work as well as the microwave. We needed the microwave to heat up our dinner so we went to the front desk to resolve the issue. At first he said there were no other rooms available untill the staff member came to look at it and called someone to let them know. He moved us to another room and checked that everything was working. After moving rooms i went back down to return the old key cards. Long story short gangsters walked in at that time demanding to pay cash and being rude. They allowed them to stay but at the same time those guests circled our room multiple times making us feel very uncomfortable which ended in US leaving to a different location for the night. They still charged us even after checking out and saying that we no longer felt safe there. Don't stay here if you want...

A friend and I stayed here - room 201, after driving 1,500 miles from Nebraska. First off, little to no parking, especially for U-haul trucks. After crawling up the stairs from exhaustion, we were greeted with 2 cockroaches that needed to be killed. As well as, another cockroach scurrying under the bed. Oh, don’t forget the used cotton swabs on the floor too. The bathroom had an odd stench and the shower nearly completely flooded the floor.

Additionally, the property had several security flaws including doors being propped open, homeless individuals freely walking into the ice/laundry room, etc. When confronting one of the managers who handles guest complaints, we were informed that there’s “nothing he can do because service has already been completed.” However, we reached out to him the same day to handle these concerns. We were then informed to have brought it up during check out but “service had already been completed”, so what difference would it have made? Not to mention that we were having language barrier issues with the motel worker at the time as well.

Beyond dissatisfying experience, especially due to the absence of customer service from management. Based on the responses gathered from management, they’re conducting highly deceptive business practices. I would never return or recommend this...
