Neca kitchen — Restaurant in Santa Clarita

I was visiting my hometown of Santa Clarita with my British husband who has never really tried Mexican cuisine and we decided to stop into Neca's Kitchen—what a wonderful surprise it turned out to be! Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but I discovered that the kind and helpful owner is the father of one of my old high school friends. We graduated together and even joined the military around the same time, so it was such an unexpected and heartwarming connection to stumble upon.

As for the food—my husband had his very first tamale and enchilada, and he absolutely loved them! I tried menudo for the first time myself, and it was rich, flavorful, and prepared with so much care. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and made with love.

When you step through the door into the beachy ambience you can tell that Neca’s Kitchen is more than just a restaurant—it’s a place that brings people together with warm hospitality and delicious food. Came here Saturday night (about 6pm) 3/11/23 after looking at the google reviews and expecting good food. Some of these reviewers don't know good Mexican food. I ordered camarones al mojo de ajo. The food was below basic, they used canned garlic for the shrimp and it didn't taste like garlic shrimp, rice was extra dry, and the salad was about three leaves of lettuce. If you're in the mood to just fill your stomach with food and don't care about taste, this is the place for you. Previously a known as Villa Maria’s this place place has been a Newhall hidden gem for many years. Now under new ownership Neca’s now has been remodeled into a full restaurant while still functioning as a local store as well.
