Newhall Park — Attraction in Santa Clarita

Beware the ever-present traffic cops. I passed up 4 closer parking spots marked for no parking. I finally found a spot very far from my event at the park. No signage that I could see. I made 3 trips from the car to bring my chairs, lunch, etc and never saw any no parking signs. Yet I got a parking ticket for parking in a no parking zone. If I'd known that was going to happen, I would certainly have parked closer in a better marked no parking zone so the price of the ticket might have been worth something. Or I would have just left and gone home instead. I live 60 miles away, so can't go back and look for the signage I missed, but I did look closely and didn't see anything indicating I shouldn't park there. There is no way to speak with someone at the city without driving out. And with the price of gas...ugh. It only gets 2 stars because I enjoyed the event, even tho the park is unimpressive. large open field. has seemingly gross bathrooms avail. the playground is about 3/10 as far as the play equipment goes. theres a pool. an indoor basketball gym, not sure about use or availability to the community... outdoor full basketball court. unfortunately no parent seating inside the gated play ground area, only has a few widespread benches and tables out side of the gated playground area.. so if you want to keep an eye on your kid while he/she plays be prepared to stand or bring...
