Honey Donuts — Restaurant in Santa Clarita

About every 3rd month I have to come to Santa Clarita for a back procedure. Every time we come we have to leave at 5am and drive 2 hours for my appointment. It's really hard on my 4 year old so yesterday he did so well we decided to stop at a doughnut shop. And I am beyond grateful we chose Honey Dougnuts! We only had $2 in cash and the ATM was down in the shop. We were about to leave and I knew it was going to crush my 4 year olds excitement. But the shop owner stopped us and told us to pick any dounut we wanted and it was ok. We let our 4 year old pick a flavor and we thanked her. But she insisted both my husband and I also each pick a dougnut. She was so sweet and I was almost brought to tears. Sometimes in this world that is filled with so much hate there comes someone who proves that there are still amazing and kind hearted people. We have to go back for another back procedure September 5th and we plan on stopping again, but this time with enough cash to buy a dozen or two! Because can I just say they are also the best doughnuts we have ever tasted? I have lived in 8 states and even more cities and I have never tasted better doughnuts and I've lived In some huge cities! Had the chocolate french crawler, the glazed buttermilk, a chocolate sprinkle, some donut holes and a ham, egg and cheese croissant. The french crawler was light and fluffy, exactly the way it should be. The glazed buttermilk actually was quite a surprise, it was not a heavy ball of dough that left a waxy feeling, but instead a fluffy pound cake that left a feeling of my mouth being full. The chocolate sprinkle was a normal raised chocolate glazed sprinkle donut, nothing special but still yummy. I am not a donut fan. Never have been. Everyone has always thought I'm crazy. Slap whatever you want on top of it-chocolate, sprinkles, glaze... nope. No go. Then one day I took a bite of my son's chocolate bar from here... omg! Soooo freaking good. I really wish I hadn't. I want one every morning now and my hips are NOT going to appreciate me if I follow through 🙄 I probably shouldn't leave this review. Ny chocolate bar might be sold out when I go now.
