Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Building — Attraction in Santa Rosa

This place and the staff saved my sister, dad and mom's life. A driver was speeding on an early morning and lost control of his vehicle. He left his lane on a two way highway and struck my mom's truck head on which caused extensive breaks and damage to my mom's hip and ribs leaving her unconscious. Thanks to the CA Hwy Patrol and the staff at Memorial. My sister was riding on the back of a motorcycle with her boyfriend heading west on Hwy 12. There was some construction being performed along the hwy and there was no cones or signs making drivers aware. The boyfriend tried to pull the bike out of the extensive gravel/dirt on the road but couldn't. The bike slide out from under them hurling him. The car behind him slammed on their breaks but struck my sister's helmet, pinning her to the hwy. Her lung collapsed and had traumatic injuries including a compound break of her femur and tibia. Memorial saved my sister's life that day. As for my dad, he was driving his Harley Electra Glide along Calistoga Rd when a truck pulled out of a private driveway in front of him. He had nowhere to go and struck the truck causing him to "superman" over his handlebars and over the truck hitting the ground some 30 feet away. We went to the Antique Duck Coy Show in the Veterans building. The Veteran's memorial building has a huge main room with a stage that holds this fun show. The Veterans Memorial Building is freeway close and it is across from the fairgrounds. There is plenty of parking spaces available. They have two sets of restrooms which are conveniently located. Two in the front of the building and two in the rear of the building. The restrooms were very clean and you can tell the building is well taking care of. There is also a snack bar that was opened and offered food that is convenient during the show. There are other rooms that can be rented to be used for whatever occasion you may need a large room. They also have a room that also has a stage but smaller than the main room with a kitchen. Great room for birthday parties or fund raisers dinners. On Saturday there is a farmers market that is opened. They sell fresh vegetables and fruits, honey, breads and pastries and there are food trucks. There is usually some kind of entertainment, people selling clothes or other wares. Great place to spend a Saturday afternoon and the people are so very nice. Don't come here for 4th of July fireworks. Workers don't know what they're doing. We sat in long lines after the fireworks show for almost 90min waiting to be directed out of the parking lot. I went to Marin County fair and was out of the parking lot in less than 5min. We hopped in the car and we were able to leave immediately and we were on the freeway within 10 minutes. This is unacceptable for Santa Rosa as the freeway is closer than the one leaving Marin. I've also seen people handing out food here without gloves or masks on for the food drive while driving by going to the hospital. Don't come here or park here for fireworks. Go to Marin.
