Lido Public Beach in Sarasota, Florida, is truly a gem for a relaxing day by the Gulf. The soft, white sand is inviting, and there are plenty of amenities to make your visit comfortable, including restrooms and outdoor showers. Plus, its proximity to St. Armands Circle means you have excellent shopping and dining options just a short walk or drive away. However, one notable drawback for those seeking a tranquil beach experience is the prevalence of wave runners. While they offer an exciting activity for some, their constant presence and noise can detract from the otherwise peaceful atmosphere of the beach, especially for those looking to simply swim or relax by the shore. Overall, Lido Public Beach is a fantastic destination with beautiful scenery and convenient facilities. Just be prepared for the buzz of wave runners if you're hoping for an entirely...

The beach area is fully back open since the last hurricane. The “new” bathrooms and shower area is fine and open. Everything is different now. The girls have been moved to the side area and most of the picnic tables as well. There are still a few tables by the main water area where they used to be. So many trees are gone so that’s very weird. The nature trails are open but have some debris in the way. Nothing to bad. But it’s been cleaned very well. The parking lot can get to capacity on the weekends this time of year so it’s good to get there early. And this weekend at least they had a couple police and security at the entrance making things go smoothly! Just wish there was more...

I came here for the first time with my family all the way from Savannah, GA. We were surprised that there was so much shade right next to the beach! There was a playground for the kids, the restrooms were actually clean, and the water was beautiful. We don't actually go to the beach to swim, so we didn't mind that the currents didn't allow us to go too far into the water, but if you are an ocean swimmer, that current is strong AF...

Very nice beach, clean, and a lot of space to lay out your beach towel and chill. Great parking and there's lots of cool shops in the area. We got there pretty close to sunset and found a parking place right away, walk down and ran our toes through the water, and since we're from West Palm we noticed that it's a lot different type of Beach than the beaches in South Florida on our side of the peninsula. Sand is much whiter.

Love this beach. We always stop when we come to Florida. It's a nice beach that has a lot of shells. It's also a lot less crowded. where we go, it's a little bit of a trek, but it's worth it. Depending on the time if year, some areas might be blocked off to protect the sea turtles/nests
