Brookside Park — Attraction in Scotch Plains

I had a horrible experience at this park. I reserved this park for a Cookout and paid $150 . When I got to the park to set up the pavillion was dirty leaves and dirt underneath the picnic tables and dog poop. My guests started to arrive before I could get it fully cleaned. I do an annual Cookout every year and have rented different parks in Middlesex County. This was the first time renting in Scotch Plains and I must say that i was shocked to see the condition that the park was in when I arrived. Great place for outdoor big party!! Great cover. Never used the bathroom myself but it’s a little walk for guests to use but better than nothing! My friend had two baby showers and one birthday party there which I helped decorate. One time they accidentally doubled booked the venue but since half my friend’s party didn’t show up it wasn’t a problem, but the park returned all of my friend’s money so that was nice. We went to play pickleball, as we heard they have some couts set up. The plusses: they have 4 courts which they seem to share with basketball, although it was only pickleball when we were there. The courts were ok, with regulation nets. The paving was a little rough, and the lines were kind if wide, but you could have a good time there.
