I have been insulted twice at the Westfield Memorial pool by employees. I am a Westfield resident however I was not a member of the pool at the time the incidents happened because we just moved. I also have an accent because I am from Europe. The first time the manager yelled at us because we got to the pool earlier than the pools opened (only the kiddy pool was open at that time) and we sat down behind the slides on a bench waiting until 12pm for the pools to open. There was no signs and the person at the front booth when we bought our tickets did not tell us either that we were not supposed to sit there. We did not go to the pool or bothered anyone just sat there peacefully waiting. 10 minutes before 12pm the manager came up to us and told us to leave the area and when I told him we were sitting there for an hour and not going into the pool he started yelling at me that if I (and he was not talking about a fictional person, he was specifically pointing at me) have a heart attack right now there will be no one to call for an ambulance and help. How rude! When I told him I was a Westfield resident he calmed down a little bit but he basically treated us all terribly and this included my 9 year old daughter as well. Not to mention that she was very upset him yelling at her Mom. On top of all this, we paid $ 60 to get in for the three of us and exactly at 12:30pm they closed the slides down because, supposedly, they did not have enough life guards. With that said, there were life guards jumping from the jump board and hanging out on the benches for hours. About two weeks later we went to the pool again, paid another $ 60 and the slides were completely closed, never opened the entire day. When I asked the woman at the front booth why the slides are not open but we still had to pay $ 20/person for the second time and not able to use the slides at all she told me with an attitude that this is the way it is and there is nothing I can do about it. When I asked if I could talk to the manager on duty she told me 'ma'am you are done'. If there was no stars I could give that is what I would do with this place. I really am in a dilemma now not to get the membership for next summer for this place. Absolutely...
Read moreWhere do I start! So the hours on google show they open at 4 pm weekdays. I am currently a new resident to Westfield and tried to get a membership however they were sold out. I bought two day passes for $45 dollars (pricey) but I figured it would be a great time since it was my day off from work and I wanted to take my family of 3 to the pool. After getting there at 4 I realized it actually opens at 10 am for kiddie swimming when I asked at the gate why Google hours are different they said they don’t control that. We finally go into the pool the kiddie area is nice more like a splash park/pad vibe (which are usually free throughout Union county) and we went to the main pool. About 10 minutes of being in there lifeguard saw us and all a women (the manager) told us we had to get out because my son is under a certain age (he’s 11 months). I got out and apologized not knowing since nothing states that online or any signs by the pool at least I did not see or read. Then the rain came and I was genuinely upset I paid 90 dollars for a kiddie pool after 4 pm during rain. I asked to speak to a manager and the same lady who told us to get out comes and really was not understanding. I am a Westfield resident get that. And as we walked out other babies where in the pool and still the manager said “we are trying to work on it” but you made us get out? Race? Probably my sons father was the only Person of color there. Not going back even if they paid me. Do not go here they are rude, not nice, not understanding, and clearly have a deeper issue....
Read moreI have been going to this pool for umpteen years. I like that it's a nice big pool with lots to do there, but for what it is, it's not worth it. Membership and guest fees are THROUGH THE ROOF! Wanna bring a guest? Good luck! It will cost you $45 per guest, regardless of age. Lifeguards don't do anything, unless something absolutely dire happens. I remember once I was being dragged out of the pool by a bully and I was crying out for help "HELP", and the lifeguard just laughed at me. Staff is very unfriendly. One time I tried to scan myself in, and a snooty lady working behind the desk snatched my card away and told me "yOu CaNnOt ScAn YoUrSelLf In", backspaced me, and scanned me in again. Another time, I arrived there about 30 minutes before it was supposed to close, and a young boy with a surfer dude haircut (looked about 16 years of age) rudely shooed me away saying "Just go, just go! You've got seven minutes, just go!", and his assistant (about 17 or 18, female) told me that there were new "holiday hours", so I naturally left. Very unprofessional of them.
Another thing, the pool floors of are made of rough, deteriorating concrete. I have cut and scraped myself on the pool floor many times. I've seen cracks as well. This is extremely unsafe, especially for children. The locker rooms are very old and undermaintained as well. Definitely needs renovation. Not worth...
