Salon 1100 — Local services in Westfield

I realized last minute that I should probably get a hair cut/highlight before starting a new job, so I went to see if I could find anyone on groupon who had a good deal. Salon 1100 was offering a partial highlight and cut for $99 and has decent reviews, so I thought I'd give them a try. I have long, thick hair so I basically just get layers every time because there's not a lot you can do with soooooo much hair. I had Julie (owner) for my color and cut. It's been a long time since I've been so happy with a hair cut! She did an amazing job on both the cut and color. She gave me a different shape to my cut to mix things up while keeping it long. The color is perfect too! I mentioned that I didn't have time for a blow dry because I had to get to work, so she had another girl blow dry with her, so I was able to get the style done and still get to work on time.

My experience at Salon 1100 was amazing from start to finish. I started out with researching their services on their website (which, btw, is very user-friendly), and booked the appointment on there as well. I love that they allow you to choose your preferred stylist while booking the appointment, even offering the stylists' bios.

My stylist was Rachel, and she was a dream to work with! She reached out to me a couple of days before the appointment to get a preliminary understanding of what I was looking for, and she continued to listen patiently at the salon as well. Her recommendations, experience, and warmth made me feel very safe in her chair.

Also, the overall vibe of the salon is so great! It's so clean, bright, and warm. Additionally, all the stylists have a great rapport with each other which actually helped put me at ease even more, since it translated into the energy I felt when I walked into the salon.

My first time EVER in the salon was in August, my appointment was with Rachel, I felt completely safe as far as covid goes BUT the experience of having Rachel do my hair is what was worth continuing to come back. Rachel is so kind and takes her time to fully understand what you are looking for and executes that look flawlessly and also makes sure that you look exactly how you wanted while ensuring that the you are comfortable and taken care of. I have been to salons before where you really are just a head in a chair and that is absolutely not the case here with Rachel and Juli you feel like you're sitting at your kitchen table having a glass of wine with your best girlfriends. I walk out of the salon feeling my absolute best while continuing to get compliments on my color between my visits, for this Rachel will always have me as a client!
