Hey it's the NC Zoo and yes the food is high, the gift shop full of souvenirs (look vlosely for a few cool things though) but you are supporting the zoo. 😉 The junction is the literally the junction between North America and Africa at the zoo. It is a hike to cover just North America so if you have kids, do yourself a favor and take the tram or shuttle from the entrance to the junction, visit Africa. Come back to the Junction and relax, eat, shop, see the butterfly exhibit and carousel and decide if you have the energy to walk through North America on your way back to the Zoo entrance! The.kids will either have their second wind or you can toss them onto the shuttle, ride back and hit North America another time! Ideally you should spend 2 days at the Zoo.
