We have been to the Asheboro Zoo many times but every time the desert done has been closed for one reason or another. This was our first time seeing this exhibit. My kids loved seeing the different snakes and bugs, however, their favorite part was the giant Colorado Toads. North America side but very close to Junction Plaza (middle of zoo). Since it is a desert, expect it to be warm. Appropriate plants (cactuses etc) are here. It's a good mock habitat.
This habitat has roadrunner, other birds, snakes, turtles, lizard type stuff, and even cats. Will say it is easy to move quickly through this exhibit and even easier to miss things. This is one where you have to take your time to see everything. The creatures...
