This is one of my top 5 happy places to go, and my absolute favorite dog park! It's got one of the biggest play areas/fields of any park I've seen. It provides 2 water hoses and bowls, but it's also got several decently long paths to walk, either around the park or down to the water. And the fully fenced water area is just THE best! The water isn't polluted and muddy like Marymoor.
The dogs are all great, and for the most part, so are the owners. I've been coming to this location since it was a military base and my dad was an Air Force vet.... but I've been coming to Magnusson off leash dog park since its was created.... I've yet to see a dog fight or owners who didn't try really hard to prevent them. I drive down from Richmond Beach, despite having Edmonds dog beach 7 min away....
Read moreWe love this dog park. It’s close to home, large, hosts a variety of terrain, beautiful scenery, and the lake water beach access is a treat —especially on hot days. Life hack: during warmer months if your furry friends take a dip in the lake or get muddy by some other means, throw a small bottle of organic dog shampoo and a microfiber cloth in your pockets and give your pooch a scrub down in the kiddie pool on your way out. The dogs who aren’t getting bathed love the bubbles and the water gets dirty so quickly this serves a few purposes outside of just being a time saver: clean/not muddy pool water for all, less dirt tracked into the car, and whatever icky things picked up in the lake get to stay right there in the park. Also outside drying time is a good time to look and...
Read moreI take my doggo to Marymoor a lot, but wanted to find a sandy walk-in beach instead of the stairs and boulders. This was... underwhelming. I was hoping for a sprawling beach where the dogs could run along the sand. This is not it. It definitely has sand and water access, and even mid-morning on a beautiful Saturday, I didn't find it to be overly crowded. But the water access is smaller than at Marymoor. It's a nice long walk through the OLDA to the beach bit, which gave my dog time to dry off and I didn't have to worry about wet dog in car. I was glad I had a towel to brush off the sand and dust, though. It's not quite the romantic "walk asking the beach while my dog plays in the little waves" experience I hoped for, but it was actually very lovely and we will...
