We have been visiting this picnic site from phoenix with our family and friends who were visiting from New Jersey with their kids. We were staying in one of rental places about 5-6 miles away from this site. So, we called a shuttle and went there abd driver unloaded us in front of the parking entrance.looks like they had a notice not to unload passengers in front of the entrance. Driver might have not noticed and dropped us there and left. The lady who were on duty at that time ( September 3rd Sunday around 5 pm) came to us asking not to enter the park.we apologized about this mistake. She was so rude and told us that she will never let us in and asked us to go back. So, we had to call and resort to another shuttle going back home and kids and my friends were so disappointed. They were asking how mean she was to us and inquired about the friendliness of AZ people. this is the first time in my 23 years in Arizona faced this kind of harassment. I need the higher official's attention on this matter since she is ruining the arizona peoples friendliness and kindness towards others. Not good for Arizona Image.also, she does not have any professionalism towards customer support. I am sure she must have done same for many others. Please take an action about this lady to stop...
Read moreIf you don’t want the crowds at slide rock or if you can’t get in there check out crescent moon. When we arrived the gate was closed because the lot was full. We were only 4th in line waiting. The road you wait on is flat non curvy and not much traffic. We got in within 10 minutes. There are two big parking lots and several options of areas to swim, wade, float, jump, slide and hike. Each are short walks to find. The main water fall slide type area had places to jump and places for smaller kids to slide along in the water. It’s not as fast or exciting as slide rock but still fun. There are lots of places to put your stuff. Definitely wear water shoes- it’s super slick. The main area was a little crowded but not too bad. From there you can venture down the creek in the water which is a fun adventure walk. Down the way from the main area are a few quieter calmer places with less kids. The final area is beautiful and perfect for sitting it floating in the water and seemed the cleanest since it was less populated. There are also several short trails to hike on there too. We went there with our 9 year old who loved it and had tons of fun. Crescent moon was a really great place to...
Read moreThis is a beautiful, clean park with nice picnic areas that include charcoal grills. There are several places to walk/ hike inside the park as well as hiking trails to the Vortex, Buddha Beach, and Red Rock Crossing. There is also a nice hike to Cathedral Rock. However, most people come for the creek! There are great places to swim, wade, fish, or just hang out. They are open from 7am-7pm (MST) 7 days per week (summer hours). Beginning Sept 22, 2025 they will close at 6:30pm. The price is $15/vehicle for up to 5 people, then $4 for each additional person. Walk-ins are $4/person. They are the busiest on the weekends when they run out of parking spaces very early in the morning. They are a concession operated facility, so the America The Beautiful annual pass is not accepted here. The only passes accepted are the green Grand Annual Red Rock Pass (which will be phased out the end of 2025), The Big Three weekly pass, and the Coconino annual pass. The bathrooms are nice and clean. It seems like they really try to keep the...
