I had to make a Google account just to leave this review, because I never do this… but this was the worst pharmaceutical experience I have ever had. Had my OB call me in a prescription for a cold sore to this pharmacy because it’s closest to my work and I’ve been miserable. Waited all day yesterday for a call that the prescription was ready for pick up, received no call, so decided surely after 24 hours after it being called in, it would be ready for pick up(still had not gotten a call) I decide to go to the store and walk in and ask. The pharmacy tech was so kind, verified my name and birthdate and told me it would be a few minutes while they got it ready. So I went and sat in the side waiting area to be called to the counter to pay/pick up my prescription. While sitting in the waiting area where I was told to wait, I was on a phone call. Sat there for 10+ minutes waiting… the pharmacist, Tom (not sure his last name, store manager wouldn’t provide it when I called) leans out into the waiting room and mumbles something towards me, I heard “phone” and “help you”. I pull my phone away from my ear and say “oh! Are you ready for me?” He throws his hands up and says “I SAID WHEN YOU’RE FINISHED WITH YOUR PHONE CALL, I SAID I WILL HELP YOU!!” I sat there in shock for a minute because I couldn’t even process what just happened…. The pharmacist started slamming totes around and his entire body language had an attitude. I gathered my thoughts and told them I would just transfer my prescription to a different pharmacy, he responded “k” and never looked up at me. I told the pharmacy tech thank you and the pharmacist responded “yep”. Just extremely rude and odd behavior from someone who is consider a “professional”. Won’t ever...
Read moreAs a prescriber... Todd is a nightmare. Yesterday, we had a patient on vacation and in need of a prescription. Our 3rd party electronic prescription service is down due to firewall issues. When I called I spoke with Todd and he REFUSED to take the prescription over the phone insisting I send it electronically because he's too busy. When I told him I could not, he told me to call back and select the voicemail option and leave the prescription info on the voicemail. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. I called back twice within 15 min and each time I choose the voicemail but the voicemail must have been full so was sent back to Todd. This interaction totaled maybe 10 min. I called my patient and explained the problem I'm having with the pharmacist and I'll keep trying to send the prescription. I waited an hour, called again, followed the same prompt as before, finally got the voicemail and left all the Rx info. My patient called 4 hours later and Todd told her I never sent the prescription. He also "tried" to look her up in the system, said she wasn't there, and HUNG UP on her.
My patient called us and was willing to drive to another Walgreens an hour away in Boone. I called the Walgreens in Boone. Spoke with Andrew. He took the prescription over the phone. And found my patient in the system in 6 seconds. The whole interaction took 3 min.
I hope Andrew at the Boone location gets every green light on his commute to work. Todd... I hope every time you use ketchup you get the water that rises to the top.
The lesson here is "don't be a Todd,...
Read moreMy 79 year old husband called the pharmacy to see if the covid vaccine was in, due to our appointment days earlier was cancelled due to lack of vaccine. He was told, yes it is in. He asked can we come in today to get a shot. We were told yes. Since we were driving from Blowing Rock, we wanted to make sure before the long windy road trip. We departed right away for the store. We arrived and the heavyset woman in the pharmacy told us, we could not get the vaccine, it is still frozen. We asked why we were told it was available and come get your shot today. She told us yes the vaccine is in, but it is frozen, we would have to come back tomorrow. She said to us, you did not ask the question correctly. She was rude. Then we asked if we come in tomorrow can we get the shot, and she said no, not without an appt. The decision not to honor what they told us by telephone twice, was just decided and made that day. We were originally told by phone, since Walgreens did not have the vaccine for our appointment time, we could come anytime without another appointment once the vaccine arrives. She made it sound like we were in the wrong and said if we do not make another appointment then we will be turned away again tomorrow. Please avoid this store due to this pharmacy employee. She was awful and my husband and I drove all that way with the stores invitation to come and get our vaccines, just to be told...
