Dropped by Luma for dinner after leaving grandfather mountain. It was around 430pm, made no reservations and were seated quickly and our order was taken just as quick. We ordered 6piece fried gyoza, fried calamari a Philly roll, drunken noodles, masaman curry and boneless fried duck. Pros: service was quick until they started getting the dinner rush. Cons: the calamari was over fried and hard. The curry and the drunken noodle dish was way too sweet. I am not sire of its always served this way or the chef messed up. It was good. But not edible. There were no chillies in the dishes especially the noodle dish and no one asked about the expected spice level. There was zero. I believe had the noodle dish had some heat it may have balanced put the sweetness. The friend duck dish was good! Very, very small serving of duck. They give lots of veggies, which I assume is to distract from the miniscule protein in the dishes. There were big chunks of potato and carrots in the curry dish that was under cooked. I can eat a semi hard carrot but not a potato. We waited almost 30 minutes to signal someone for the check. Would consider visiting again to try the sushi and maybe give directions on the dishes.

GO TO NGUYENS ASIAN GRILL INSTEAD. My wife and I were in town for a friends wedding and also to celebrate our anniversary. I put reservations in two days prior and when we showed up for our dinner those reservations “didn’t exist”, I showed our email confirmation and she said I should have called. The main dining area seems nice, but we were put in the “overflow” bar side, alone, and it was very odd. The server was visibly frustrated she had to serve us over there. We eat sushi ALOT. We make most food at home, unless it’s something we can’t make. If we go to eat 9/10 times it’s sushi/Asian/Mediterranean. The miso soup was great! The sushi was really not great. I ordered a double shrimp roll and the banner elk roll, my wife got a couple Spicy salmon rolls- while they were plated and looked really quite tasty, they had no flavor, and my warm shrimp roll had ice cold shrimp on it

Fabulous restaurant with higher end feel for the area. The dishes could do with a bit more spice as we are used to Thai food being on the spicy side and my husband said the basil fried rice wasn't spicy at all. I had the Banner Elk roll and it was very pretty, but I'm used to fried rolls being warm all the way through and this one was cold in the middle. The spicy mayo on top was also not very spicy. It was still better than expected for the area. There wasn't a long wait, but the aquarium in the lobby area was very sad looking with dead coral and just a couple of small fish. The fireplace was also not on even though we were there on a busy Saturday night. The rest of the restaurant was very nice, though.

The atmosphere is quite nice here and there is definitely a relaxing high end feel. The sushi was extremely fresh and prepared perfectly. The service was ok but nothing special for a $75 lunch date with my wife. We should've went to Reid's at that price point but oh well.

The reason for my two stars is because I've had the red curry here twice and both times it was incredibly soupy and bland even though I ordered it at the four star maximum standard spice level. Quite simply that is just not how you make curry and I wouldn't really expect this especially from a Thai restaurant, I would think they would prepare the dish correctly and take the time to actually cook the ingredients. None of the vegetables were cooked at all it seems like they almost threw them in at the last second and cook them just enough to say that they did something to it.. there's a good chance that maybe some of the other foods on the menu would probably be pretty good and in the event that we ever go back and try something besides the curry there is a good chance that I very well my update this review. Until then when someone comes in even if it's at 2:30 and you're getting ready to close lunch I would recommend that you still have your chefs actually learn how to prepare a curry dish the right way first of all but more importantly simply if you are going to make it soupy then you can at least give it a few minutes that it needs for the flavors to cook and...

I wish I could give this restaurant a zero star, very bad experience we had! We ordered for takeout, picked up food, came home and 2 out of 3 entrees were wrong, we have certain food restrictions and even though explaining for so many times, they made it wrong!!! Called them, lady said it was her mistake and asked us to come back to pickup the correct order, it was very dark and our house was on the mountain lil far from the restaurant yet we went back to pickup, way passed our dinner time. The owner was there and we explained the situation, he got so mad on the employee and told us that he would fire her. He refused to give us the correct order, gave back some cash from his wallet (which was less than our order) and told us to leave! HOW RUDE!!!!!! What was our mistake in this? We are roaming around to get some food at 10, with a cranky toddler in a tow! So so disappointed with the service and staff! I am sorry for the bad day he was having but it WASN'T OUR FAULT, they said it was their mistake and yet didnt give us the right food! Some people do have diet restrictions, I don’t expect everyone to understand but the restaurant people SHOULD...
